take a good look and you'll see the "blood bath" misprint!

Are those Chris Bigg caligraphy/scribbles on the CD I see?
Thanks for posting them -- how's the sound?

i can't comment on the sound as i don't have copies as of yet, just the artwork for now.

I like the look of the CD -- I'm a big fan of Bigg's scribbles!

to me though the graphic look of the cd doesn't fit its sleeve. one looks far more modern than the other.
It's a shame they (whoever 'they' may be) didn't decide to release a limited edition of the four reissues in those 'Japanese' style mini-lp sleeves. Now that would have looked STUNNING.
But then some people are never happy...

i agree.
they should either have gone for a plain CD, or a design more in-keeping with the sleeves. or redesigned both sleeve and CD in a similar style.
but given that the plan was apparently to keep the same basic original sleeve design, something for the CD on the same theme would have been better. IMHO!

the decision for the new on-body artwork was v23's, to keep the albums looking like they were a part of a series - all the other reissues have the same style artwork... guess it stops someone in a record shop putting the wrong cd into the wrong album if they still have the full price prefix versions! (CAD is full price)
I'll try to do some scans of all the cd's tonight, if anyone is interested?
here's a quick scan of the cd on body artwork for the four reissues (http://www.sweetfoolthemouth.co.uk/images/cocteausreissuesonbody.jpg)
so there ye go

you know...these remind me of...LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST artwork or something....boring

i wouldn't say they're boring as such. not as boring as the original release versions after all!
they're just a bit 'same-y'. though if i understand the ethos correctly that was the idea (?).

I like the "series" look of them. But then it makes it frustrating that their entire 4ad catalogue isn't remastered...This new series will feel in some ways incomplete. Keep them wanting more, I suppose!
I think, though, that the scribble look harkens back to earlier 4ad designs (Certainly Heidi Berry's "Love" cd, This Mortal Coil, etc). It sooths my need to live in the past.

But not the Cocteaus though, eh?
But then memory is a version of the past that was never present... pimp

Oh, Cocteaus certainly...But the scribble motif wasn't really present in the original Cocteau artwork (the music takes care of that).

Not for long, matey.
Oh, no...I was forgetting....4AD have no idea of the nature of CT fans, as Jo has told me in here on several occasions.

bts, i wonder.......did you complain to 4AD/v23 about the misprint on the original vinyl version too when it came out back in 1982?

well then when you first purchased the album - did you complain? or did you complain about all the other subsequent misprints?
