Am I the only person who was disappointed with remaster? There just doesnt seem to be much difference in the sound unlike the L2V discs

I ain't heard it yet.

Though someone else already said it, the idea of remastering albums that are relatively recent, seems silly and unnecessary. Mastering technology hasn't changed much in the past several years...although the fashion has. (louder and severe overcompression)

I do like the idea of added liner notes, though.

There's a great Japanese band called Highrise. I expect the M&K remaster to sound a bit like that ;)

I'm not familiar with them. What--is their album mastered very loudly, with the dynamic range squashed to about 10dB?

Highrise are along the lines of Raw Power Stooges with low-mixed vocals. Very cool stuff! Their Durophet album is the loudest cd I have ever heard. It works wonderfully with that kind of stuff, but CT.........

it sounds like there's a touch more bass to it.... but no, not really very different and a little disappointing.

Yeah, most of the stuff on L2V was recorded on Analoge tape. When you transfer that into a mastering program like Wavelab or something and tweak things and get rid of extra tape noise, it makes a big difference. Plus, 4CC is only 13 years old.
