If you could invite one member of CT to dinner, who would you invite and why?
(Simon, please don't get offended if someone doesn't pick you)
I'd invite Liz Fraser.
Assuming she actually turned up, she'd be the best of the three for a sing-song around the piano. Her rendition of "Roll Out The Barrel" would be interesting to hear and I'll bet she'd volunteer to wash the dishes afterwards, too.

Hmmmmmmmm....... Interesting question....
Being the techy-geek kind of musician that I am, I'd probably invite Simon or Robin. I'd love to hear any little tips or tricks! So far Simon's been the friendliest around here, so I'd probably invite him. ;) But truly, I'd love to get into a conversation on the technical end of the spectrum. Liz cannot tell us how she does what she does. She just DOES it! But the rest of the music production can be explained. I want to know THAT!
Oh, and a jam session afterwards would be fun too!pimp

i'd invite simon. yes, i do have alterior motives but i'd do my best to behave myself.
i'd love to cook him a nice big indian meal served on clear glass plates, loads of jasmine candles burning at the centre of the table, lots of good northern italian red wine flowing served in heavy silver goblets, black linen napkins, sweet brandied pears for after. he can tell me stories about his dreams and his passions. i'd love to hear what it was like for him growing up, being ivor's son, being inches away from dusty springfield and the like, the pressure's he may or may not have felt. i want to hear about his first guitar and his first vinyl record. i want to ask him about his first girlfriend and his first kiss. i want to know what songs he sings in the shower and what he listens to in his car on the way to work. i want to know what hopes and dreams he has for stanley and william. i'd love to see if i could ever figure out exactly what makes him tick (and tock!).... basically i'd love to know everything.
a girl can dream.
pimp Simon definitely gets the 1st invite . . . after selection of fine wine, cocktails for a big-hearted Twin, and/or hierba buena, I then proceed to trick a hungry Robin with the premise of a good ole' fashion steak bbq/guitar jam . . . or portobellos, natch! :D
Unbeknownst, a spooning good singing Twin drops by for dessert (please Liz, try my new hooka!) roflmao Once we are good & toasty, I press the big RECord button . . .

Simon would be my dinner guest..Over red wine, a glazed salmon and some rediculously chocolate dessert, we'd talk about the music he's made, the artist's he's helped as producer and as record label dude, and then we'd talk about how he'd like me to move to England and work at Bella Union.....Please? I'm good with people! ;)

Ummmm.... This is Simon. Yeah! This is! I just read your post, mmmender. I'm coming right over! Oh, and please, don't feel any need to constrain yourself on MY account! If you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with! :D Oh, and don't be surprise if I show up looking a bit shorter and fuller in the chest... I just got over swahilian flu, and it made me lose some weight in some very odd places. Oh, and don't mind the higher voice than you're used to. It took lots of estrogen to cure the swahilian flu! But don't worry, the doctor says I'm way past the contagious stage, and am recovering nicely! So start up that clay oven! I LOVE indian food! Oh, and don't be surprised if I don't want to talk about my past too much. I might be tired from jet lag (got a thing about planes, you know! Oh, wait! You DON'T know that... um, er... I just told you..) and want to go straight to bed after dinner! Oh, and one last thing... I always like to make it a habit of sleeping in a fan's bed WITH them whenever I spend the night, ok?

Oh, I guess my name and avatar gave it away, huh?? Lol!!! Ok, sorry mmmender. I'll stop.... for today! ;) I actually prefer men over women myself, but I think I've just been single for TOO DAMN LONG!!! Still, no reason to make you suffer through my singleness.
Maybe if I save up some money......pimp
on the surface, i think it would be Liz,......she's such an enigma,......nothing like dinner to break the ice.......but
i'd more than likely rather have robin over for a real good feed.
i get the feeling we wouldn't stop laughing for hours......or untill one of us threw up!
:) Zed.

It would have to be sweet Liz :D
Because ? Because I adore her I guess and would love to know more.
We'd discuss the early days, making music, working in the industry, divorce & parenting.
Girlie Natter basically ! :)

Divorce? Who has she been married to, then? Not Damon Reece, surely?

Sorry, Replicess, I really wasn't being pedantic...I just thought I'd missed the news about Liz and Reece getting hitched.

I'd love to have dinner with Simon because he seems to be the friendliest of the three. At least I know we could have a meal and a good healthy conversation about punk rock!
