View Full Version : Best Cocteau Twins album to make love to
John Anderson

Not to sound sleazy but the twins provide some good music to get your groove on. Whats your personal favorite? Mine would be Four Calander Cafe it just has alot of little clues in it that feel sexy. "I had to fantasize just to survive."and "I am not the same I growing up again theres no turning back i can't stop feeling now. FEELING NOW"
john
"love you and i know that you can figure it out"
I personally wouldnt want music on in the background as it would be too distracting especially if it were Liz i have to listen to every syllable of that woman, Cocteaus are my religion...hehe

Has to be Blue Bell Knoll - quite simply orgasmic!

for me.. FCC.. especially 'my truth'..
I think the BBK is a good call though I can't say I've tried it. Something about Liz's singing on the album is pure ethereal orgasmic beauty at its finest. Phil, made a good joke about having singing while having sex and how Liz made this album...can't recall it now, but it was great.

depends on my mood...and whether i'm tied up or not! LOL
gotta be either victorialand (for the soft mushy kinda sex) or garlands (for when ya hafta pull out all the stops and the costumes!)
;)
too much information?
Good point Jonno. I've often thought that as well.
I'm sure I read an article a few years ago that stated very much the same thing. I think it was in Spin magazine, but cannae remember.

On the contrary, I feel you should expand on the titbits you have provided us.
More detail is clearly required.

Mmmender,
After giving it much thought I think it's best that you not provide more details of your sex life on this forum, it is surely going to cause me to wet myself.

Coldplay,
try melting then moulding one, might just work.
Victorialand did it for me lack the late 80's, early 90's. Notched up the most times in one sess. - a record unbroken til recently.
having said that, listening to any of them puts you in the mood..

I recall reading an interview with the Twins where this phenomenon was mentioned. Apparently, the Golden Throated One was disbelieving, adding "I mean, no-one ever died listening to the Revolting Cocks."
Hmm...I really don't know which one I'd like to hump to the most. Probably "Moon And The Melodies" if were pushed for a decision. The track I really fancy having a go with, however, is a non-CT track - "Svefn G Englar" by Sigur Ros. Only ten minutes long, though...thank the Lord and pass the ammunition for the CD player's repeat function. Oh, and possibly "Echoes" from Pink Floyd's "Meddle" album.

i lost count with "THE PINK OPAQUE" in the backround.
all memorable..........

I can't say I have ever really sexed it up with the music of Cocteau Twins, but I have lain in Love and basked at the awe of what I was feeling between myself and another, like dancing tickles of electricity and light, absorbing into each of us with the efforts of caressing...
Which makes me think I'd have to say: VICTORIALAND
Some of the best Love Making in the world involves no percussion...

Alas I fear it will take too long to explain/unravel zed's homespun logic here.

ps...i had the idea..right?
z:p
I find myself too close to the music to have it on in the background. I mean, it's like.."wait...listen to the way this guitar is mixed...." or "Honey, can you move over for a second, I can't tell if Simon is using a four or FIVE string bass on this one."
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think E or entertainment weekly once ranked 'four calender cafe' as one of the best albums to shag too...

Wow! You mean to tell me that something as mainstream media as E! or Entertainment Weekly even acknowledges the Cocteau Twins? Damn, and here I thought the only covered top 20 music artists with hard bodies, major studio productions featuring people with hard bodies, and those rare, wierd people that somehow find their way onto CNN, sometimes with hard bodies.

LOL!yup.....must'a slipped through the cracks...somewhere.
pun in there, hideing is intentional!

Please refer to one of my posts elsewhere in this morass of filth for my comments about CT freaks and their frankness.
I'd have thought the best soundtrack for self-abuse would be the Vapours' "Turning Japanese".

All the music is quite sensual so I can see a valid claim for any of it. For me I think it would have to be 'Four Calendar Cafe' too. There are just so many exquisite layers in that album. It's soft and loud and beautifully produced...the perfect complement to an afternoon 'roll in the hay'.

oh my! that sounds sordid. i bet leesa would like it ;)
i don't think i've ever done it to the twins music.
i prefer to keep it raunchy with some black sabbath or ted nugent (only of course with a slab of raw meat dangling from my chops)or possibly even negative approach.

Well first off....I would pick VICTORIALAND but the other person has to get it...if you get what i mean...do you get it? or it may come off ridiculous...I think the most accessible album to make love to, for the not so insightful person who doesn't love Cocteau ;) would be FOUR CALENDAR CAFE minus summerhead...which tends to break the rhythm a little i think...
Watchy
Not in thread, but I was thinking just the same thing about Sumemrhead...I love the song but it breaks the flow of the album dramatically...and I have been in situations where it was nice and loud...when that tune came one it was a bit funny...
In addition to soft mixes...I had been thinking of making an 'energy' mix, which would have songs like Summerhead, Blue Beard, Hazel, Pale Clouded White, Circling Girl...to name a few...a handful of mood mix discs...

i might have to customize a playlist but for a single album would be victorialand for romantic and garlands (and maybe head over heels too) for lust and amongst the eps: the butterfly ones ... tiny dynamine and echoes in a shallow bay.
