as someone else suggested.....
what is your favourite single/ep from the Four-Calendar Cafe and Milk & Kisses periods.....
i'll start it with Violaine CD2
but not forgetting "Snow" is up the top too.... I think it's one of everyones favourites... yeah
erinn.........i'd love to vote but i seem to have a cronic non abilty to........but if i could, it would be "otherness."
such a frosty take on some very un-frosty numbers.

Echo....
I have to say yellow Tishbite for primitive heart
This is my absolute favorite thing they did after FCC!
I chose the pink Violane single for 'smile' and 'tranquil eye' two songs I wish were on m&k.

I must agree with you about M&D, but I still can't seem to choose a favorite cd among the choices.

Hehe..I almost did too for the same reason, but Bluebeard won out mainly cuz I like that tune more than Violaine by a long shot. And the Bluebeard single has the accoustic version too. On both singles I like the 2 extras alot...maybe Icepulse the least of those 4...but all great...
The best of a bad bunch?
I'm really not sure. Possibly the one with Alice.
I abstain. :(

To the point of Zed having it tattooed onto a piece of his anatomy, allegedly.

You wouldn't say that if you knew where the tattoo was.

I went with Twinlights, probably because I remember how those acoustic versions really grabbed me when I first got it. It's worn off a bit now, but it's tough to vote for another CD just for one song, like Green Violaine for Circling Girl. --Alan

I thought about adding those leesa.... but they are classed as Promo releases in most peoples view (inc. mine)
Althought Summerhead release is one of the most nicest things on this plannet. Can't really describe it any better

Ah...the "Serpentskirt" with Faye Wong.
Yep, I've got that...I thought we were talking pure CT releases here...had me worried for a while.

Could be. I'm sure I may have lost more than one CT auction to her! But I noticed that I do have a coupla things on her "want list" ;-) --Alan
This was a really hard one.
Mud and Dark & Circling Girl are in my top 10 all time favorites.
However, I voted for Violaine Pink CD, because Smile & Tranquil Eye are just so other worldly beautiful and the cover looks alien.

I LOVE Summerhead.
I can't take it...
If all the extras comprised in these discs were sold on one disc I'd be a happy camper...

.....and lo it came to pass more than 2 years later that we have another post on this ancient thread.
What can it all mean?
Voting has continued through the dark days of no posting. Most notably, it seems that all the late releases are held in equal regard throughout CT fandom. How can this be, when we all know Serpentskirt & Circling Girl to be 2 of the greatest recordings of all time, yet all hide our faces in shame when strangers speak in hushed & embarrassed tones of the unmentionable 2-track Sn*w single ?

I just cast a vote because either I hadn't seen the poll before or I hadn't bothered to express a preference (less likely).

I've abstained because Bluebeard is the only one I've heard, and it's, well, good but not up there with BBK or HOLV stuff. Been wracking my brains/diary to find out why/where I went astray music-wise in the mid-90s, "TripHop" probably. Hope I can still call myself a fan :) awaiting re-issues so I can catch up.
etc etc
Jul-15-05, 12:49 PM
Oh my, Fritter, many good things await you....I wish I could go back and hear many of these songs for the first time..you are lucky indeed...and I hope that the compilation due to come out has Circling Girl in its Volume release with the 'close encounters of the third kind' guitar intro....and Flock of Soul/Primitive Heart as well as the pink Violane are joys to behold...

Aiieee! I'd managed to suppress it as a False Memory, and then you had to mention it!!! A shame, because Phil Spector's Christmas Album is still a favourite, and I love Christmas carols. Sometimes, maybe, Humor (sic) does not belong in music.
