Are you talking about a specific disk that's on sale somewhere? Got a link to it? There are a bunch of Russian CDs out there that contain multiple albums or album/EP combinations. They're bootlegs I believe, but they look pretty official and are sold in pretty big numbers. Can't remember off the top of my head what combination they had with Garlands and/or Treasure - I'd have to check.

The original Garlands vinyl release did not include the Peel session. When they released it on CD they added the Peel session, but as I recall the CD wasn't released until a couple of years later when CDs started to get popular. Having said that, I think it may have been included on the original cassette - I'd have to check.

The Peel session wasn't included on the recently remastered version of Garlands. Always sounds odd listening to Garlands without them being there.

Aside from the Garlands CD (and maybe cassette), the only official release of any of the other Peel Sessions was on the BBC Sessions CD. That included the various Peel sessions plus stuff they did for other shows.

Yeah the Peel session was on the Garlands cassette release. Certainly in the UK.

Yeah, the Peel session is on the cassette - BUT it must have been released later than the vinyl, as it is the Jan 83 Peel session, but Garlands was first released in September 82. I don't think any CDs were sold in the UK until 1983.

From the 4AD site:

"1985...The Pink Opaque (CAD 513) was a compilation album put together for Relativity Records in America. Relativity had access to CD manufacturing facilities and so The Pink Opaque became the first 4AD title to be issued in the new digital format."

So it was quite a bit later...

That makes sense, because I remember going out and buying the entire CT back catalogue when I bought my first CD player, and I think that was winter 1985/86. Got in trouble with my neighbours for playing them rather too loudly when I got home.
