Hello:
It`s difficult to explain, specially how much work has meant to obtain each one of the works of Cocteau Twins for me, because no of the originals pieces of my collection has been obtained through internet.
The official LPs I complete theme in 1998 ... each one of them represents a little while special in my life.
Whe one lives in a as distant country as mine, to obtain nonmassive music is transformed almost into an apostolate.
Now tha exists Internet I have been able to record a pile of peculiarities that of another way could not have obtained...
If they ask to me which is my treasure, I believe that they are several:
* My vinyl of "Heaven or Las Vegas".
* My videotapes with live presentations, especially "Live in Toronto, 1990".
* A book that I made myself with all the Cocteau's lyrics , with letter "Cocteau" each one in his page... I alternated the albums
with beautiful photographies of Liz... That is my greater tresure, because he is unique and it represents all the love
of the music of Cocteau Twins has meant in my life...
:)
Jeez...compleatly forgot!
my collection of original cocteau photos from the NME files!
hmmm.love 'em!

MMM...........
ummmm, just what is the differance?

(1) UK/Canada box set has a darker cloth-like cover, the box is smaller than the US version and the jewel cases inside are slim-line (as for cd singles)
(2) USA box set is larger, cover is lighter burgundy than the UK version, jewel cases inside are regular sized jewel cases
(3) JAPANESE box set is made of cardboard, like a slide in sleeve (similiar to that of a VHS box that you'd get a few videos in). the text on the cds are mainly in japanese, catalogue numbers are different and the jewel cases are also slim-line. it also comes with a booklet, unlike the other 2 versions.
here is a picture of the japanese box set:
OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhh.
must have........

My most prized possesion is my memory of "hanging out" with Simon and Robin in NYC after the show at Roxy and Simon lifting me off the ground with a hug when he realized I was the "Troy-Again" from so many posts at the old, original forum site. I was going to just finish saying hi and go on my way, when he said to wait because Robin and Elizabeth would want to say Hi. He found Robin, who then proceeded to flirt with my roommate, Cyprus, saying she was the source of lights for the show that night. I never got to meet Elizabeth that night because she ran out of the club before anyone could find her, but that night changed my life in ways I won't account right now.
Some things most precious I will never be able to touch, but they touch me profoundly.

What is this Toronto video, and where can I get a copy?
it was a bootleg video made of one of their live shows in toronto, i was at that gig and lemme tell ya - it's not the best bootleg video out there. it was shot from the balcony and it's a pretty poor representation of what really happened. but then again, their live magic can never be captured on video, can it?
dynamine
Sep-5-02, 10:50 AM
mmmender, is that the same video where some goofy lady in
audience asks LIZ:"how did you lose so much weight"?very
dark bootleg.also looks to be balcony shot.
I believe the video where that lady shouts out that comment was Live in Vancouver, 1991, which is another rather lousy bootleg.
:(
don't get me going...
spent far to much for much to little where boot vids are
concerned.
sigh.
oh..for a really GOOD one, ya know?
Lucibelle
Sep-5-02, 1:08 PM
Cheese and Rice!!! How could anyone be so insensitive as to ask Liz how she lost weight? And during a show no less?!? Geez! Makes you hope that this person can get fat just so someone who hasn't seen them in a while can say, "Geez! How did you get so FAT???"

spanglemaker
Sep-5-02, 9:28 PM
robin chats with me. is fukka your uncle dad too? lol
These two are the same video if I remember right. Correct location is Toronto if I remember right.
I said if I remember right twice, if I remember right!!
I think my fave treasure would be the Four Calendar Cafe presentation box which includes the CD, colour photo and mini -biog - what a sweet, perfectly formed thing it is.

Hello :)
My most prized possession has to be a postcard Liz sent me in 1985, which is now framed. we were pen-pals for a while that year, but my sister tore up the letters after an argument !!!!
R.......
i'm assuming that your sister is buried in a shallow grave buy the hedgerow in the back forty?
or in a maximum security ward for the deeply disturrbed?
beaten severly on a daily basis?
pick one, please.
great story...i sincerly hope it's a nice bit'o fiction!
i'm terribly excitable.

Start writing to her again...she has the time now. Don't be surprised if the letters are on the backs of old shopping lists.

Which one of you has MY limited edition of Milk & Kisses?????I love every cd, every single, every vinyl, every picture, every sound they made...I caress the vinyls ('cause I don't have a vinyl player :( and I wish I was born like 15 years sooner in London...The first time I realized what the word "fulfillment" meant was when I was listening to Atholl Brose, in a radio station studio, with my Cocteau Twin - Adia...I love you!!!
