there are loads of cocteau boots out there but from the 'semi-official-looking ones, which one do you rate the worst?
(btw my poll questions are limited to a selection of 10 choices so i've just picked the 10 most popular ones.)
Uhhhh....yeah....I'll let you know when I've heard all those ;)

the sound on Calfskin Smack is simply appalling. it sounds like the bootlegger recorded the show on a tape recorded placed inside a paper sack in the mens room..... ugh.

i agree with you on Victorialake. it's not awful. i do find it ... disconcerting. the songs just keep going when i expect them to stop... wierd.

Nope, never seen nor heard any of them. I did have a tape of a gig at Liverpool Royal Court but that was very poor sound quality.

well any of the soundboard bootlegs that are circulating kick the proverbial ass of the albums listed in the poll above.

And where, pray tell, might one procure one of these soundboard recordings? I've never seen/heard one...

well those who own soundboards usually only trade for sounboards that they don't already own....which of course kinda leaves you out in the dark if you don't have one at all. they aren't that easy to come by but if you've got something on someone's want list then they may be willing to part with one. i'm willing to trade one of my soundboards (if anyone here is interested) but i'm just not sure what to ask for in return! send me a PM and we can work something out i'm sure.
ps......slipped, wow you've been a member for nearly a year and this is your first post! i guess it takes talk of the goods to bring you outta hiding. glad you decided to join in!

I have them all but to be honest I listened to them once and then never listened to them again. I bought them because of what and who they are, not because of what is on them. For the record however I recall Calfskin Smack being resolutely awful (esp. given what I paid for it) but I've never been very impressed by any of them.

Wow, has it been a year already??? Sheesh.
Thanks for the kind welcome, mmmender. I may a silent observer, but I do faithfully tune in several times a week to scan the boards and catch the latest CT-related blatherings you all seem to ceaselessly generate. ;-)
I could of sworn that I'd posted something prior to this rather unimpressive debut. Oh well. It's actually quite liberating to break my silence, now that I've done it. Look out, people! I may moved to post at least once or twice more before the year is out... :headbang:
