indeed this is very sad news, she died yesterday at the age of 70 and will be sadly missed.

I must admit I gasped when I read the headline. She was 70 years old, and had apparently been sick for some time. SUCH AN AMAZING VOICE, and SUCH A SAD LOSS TO THE WORLD.

Never was a fan - her end-of-line warble used to annoy the shit out of me and jazz singers generally leave me cold, but, obviously, I feel for her family's loss.
