Oh my lord beHEEBY Jeezus... I don't know if it makes us freaks or geniuses, but I am in awe at what has come to pass as American and Pop "Idols" between the UK and USA. Not that I really have anything against that cookie cutter 30-notes-per-syllable, manic waves of the hand, and tiny t-shirt, tight clothed cheese-ball factory-made singing that passes as... well, passable, but really, it amazes me sometimes that someone with the vocal incredibility and soar as Elizabeth is not swept up in the media as commercially. I am at once SO GLAD she is not, but then I also feel annoyed that I don't hear HER when I am in a grocery store, instead of Mariah Carey.

I have a day job at SAKS here in NYC for the web site, e-commerce shit, and although I work with perfectly sweet souls, they have actually ganged up on me to tell me that MARIAH CAREY is ALTERNATIVE MUSIC!!! ALTERNATIVE!! Yes, you read correctly! I don't care about categorizing, but I am sorry... Mariah is far from being an alternative, whatever that word means anyway, these days.

Anyway, so... who else of the elite, genius freaks in love with truly artful and heartful music actually watched most of American and/or Pop Idol? <raising hand... embarrassed>>

Ummm,

troy, i'm afraid you're going to have to quit your job. sounds to me like you are in fear of being infiltrated by the trolls of AM radio. working with people like this can and will be hazardous to your health!!
