I have a few questions/comments:
Do any of you know if there is any significance to the importance of the name, CAROLYN? I don't know if any of you have noticed, but many of the 4AD and various other dreampop, shoegazer, etc. type music seems to always have some song with the name Carolyn in it, or a variation, such as Caroline,... shoot, I think there is even a Caroline Records. Anyway, anyone have anything insightful to solve this sub-mystery? And can you name all the Carolyn/Caroline songs, titles, lables, etc?
Okay, and this other comment is a bit strange, but maybe someone will find this interesting. When Blue Bell Knoll came out, I found that I could not stop listening to it and found it to actually be an amazing source of meditation time for me, even if I didn't particulary focus on it. Since I am metaphysically-inclined and had many psychic and "psychic" pals, I gave them all a copy of the CD and asked them to tell me what they felt, thought, etc.
I got back feedback that was amazingly unanimous!
Those with the terminology to describe it said that the first 7 songs all resonate to each Major Chakra in the body and that the effects on them were incredibly synchronizing and healing! The last three songs also had effects that would be too complicated to describe here, but that the last song was an overall balancing song for the body and mind.
Okay, I think it all may be hokey and most likely not the intention of Cocteau Twins, of course, but still,... I found it something too unusual to dismiss, especially after my own experiences with the CD. This was, I think, only 11 people with this feedback, but they were all unknown to each other in any way that would cross-reference each other's experiences.
I know all of Cocteau Twin's music has a spiritual-ish, meta-something-ish-ishness to it, but is there something more otherworldly to that particular CD of Blue Bell Knoll to any of you?
