Why do I hate this song so much?

Maybe because it takes away some of the sheen from an otherwise wonderful album ?
I've never liked it, either.
Not one of my favorites either. Much prefer Athol Brose.

Mmm Athol Brose, pure filth.
Favourite CT song of our absent leader. Hope people aren't taking advantage.
It isn't my fav on BBK, but I think Spooning Good Singing gum is weaker. Actually the last 3 songs on BBK never thrilled me. Though Floatboat grew on me, mostly because of the singing, now I like it more than the other two of those 3, more than Cico too.

Agreed. Hate is too strong a word. I don't even hate FCC, even though I can never listen to it.
This is the best song on the album !!!

Wow!!! I've always thought Spooning Good Singing Gum was one of the strongest songs on the album, a signature track if you will, both of Liz's gymnastic vocals and Robin's etheral guitar riffs.

I don't think there is a bad song on the album for Liz's vocals, this one included for sure. The guitar and instrumentation is the part I don't like as much though.

I sort of agree DJ, I can listen to (I mean, really listen and not just have on in the background) both BBK & HOLV right through without missing a track, as you say, they just flow---so I suppose they (not a partic. track) are my fave tunes out of the lot.
Oh I don't know..................
