Hey, here’s crazy information I’ve just got from very reliable source.
:crazy: 4AD schedule of this year releases contains Elizabeth Fraser solo album! It states that album may be released this autumn.
My source underlined, that it doesn’t mean that album really WILL be released.
I know it sounds quite stupid, but the same guy said about Cocteau Twins reunion before Robin confirmed it here! :crazy:

It was really close back in 2005. They planned to play at Coachella Festival (US), but just before rehearsals Liz changed her mind :(

He played some fantastic guitar. It doesn't sound like guitar. It's so weird. You can't describe it, but it sounds really good and really diffferent, and he is 52 or something and looks just the same.
This just leaves me speechless.

The thing is that after 'Teardrop' by Massive Attack she is bigger than she has ever been. Massive Attack sold three quarters of a million albums which is more than the Bunnymen and Spirtiualized and the Cocteau Twins worldwide, so with the Octeau Twins which is an old band and fairly underground, a whole bunch of kids who got into Massive Attack are saying "Who is this Elizabeth Fraser", so I think it will be a good thing.

Yes, and when they look into her, they'll find... Cocteau Twins! Oh the horror!

I always thought the break-up of CT was because of the break up of Liz and Robin....Not wanting to have guitars on the record doesn't seem like a good reason as they were a guitar band.

You guys are funny....in a sense, I feel bad for Damon and the spiritualized deal. I didn't sense any cockiness in his attitude, though.

As for Liz not talking to the press? I personally think it's silly. I've read some interviews with her from the 4CC days when she talked openly about her abuse and I think to myself, that's one of the most personal things anyone can say, especially in a public music magazine (or a few) and then, act like she's got something to hide. To me, that's as personal as it gets, any news about a new record or anything else is small talk compared to that. Sheesh....

Most companies will list a upcoming release, until the manufacturer actually cancels production... which can't happen until they receive the product to make copies of. It's just a projected numbers game, doesn't have anything to do with reality.

If she was having any kind of trouble with Blanco & Negro, it may have been a choice to "go back to the devil you know."

I know B&N was once affiliated with EBTG & other respectable artists, but the only online references I can find about their current offerings seem to be dime-a-dozen techno & disco stuff. Might have made sense if the "Underwater" track was what Liz had in mind when she signed with them, but what we've heard of "Expectant Mood" and other bits suggest otherwise; so maybe B&N didn't make sense for her any more??

A change of labels would explain why there were indications a year ago that we were on the verge of something, only to get nothing.

Ok, you may close this thread. I've just received information from Sonic Records (4AD distributor in Poland) that Elizabeth Fraser album indeed was (with title & barcode), but IS NO MORE in schedules they regularly get from 4AD. :2cry:

It reminds me this Coahella thing. Again, we were so damn close.......

I'm trying to get more details, but I know that Liz's album is still included in 4AD schedule of 2008 releases. What's more - it has title, catalogue number and date of release. No cover art though.

It's definitely not the case. She's not signed to 4AD. Rough Trade is her label.
