do any of the cocteau fans have a favorite
song by an artist or group that "LIZ" has added
her beautiful vocal talents to?

For me, it would be a tie between Future Sound of London's 'Lifeforms', and Massive Attack's 'Mezzanine'. Great stuff!

thanks for the vote of confidence spangles but to be honest i think that the answer to ross's question is a very personal one. i for one do not think that liz has shown her true ability through her collaborative efforts....because that to me is exactly what they are efforts not achievements but efforts. remember back in school you'd get one of those 'great effort' comments on your report card and it left you thinking...."hmm, i could certainly do better!".
liz has yet to bloom on her own (i'm talking post-cocteau here), her lack of a solo album is evidence of this. i believe she is going through a bit of an artistic slump. let's face it - she's only known life as a cocteau twin and not much else. she's afraid to get her feet wet, she's afraid of how she'll be seen by the public (just read my signature quote!!). she knows that she has but one public persona: cocteau twins lead singer. it's a role she's played for quite a long period of time and i think changing roles for anyone can be challenging.
ok, that being said....i think that most of the collaborative efforts have been fairly mediocre...i mean, you always go back to comparing the songs with cocteau twins songs, don't you? i know we shouldn't - but we do. my point? nothing can and will ever compare. but looking at her efforts as stand-alone bodies of work i would have to say that to me 'underwater' and her work with massive attack are the only ones that show true promise of a new direction!
MMM......
absolutely.
no one's said it better.
and......with more empathy.
