Of course we are all eager to hear Liz again and enjoy what her solo release will offer. I thought of her (and our long wait) as I read this article about Anita Baker (of Rapture fame). Remember her?? I'll bet I'm not the only CT fan who thought that she was wonderful (for someone who insisted on confining themselves to the english language -- or any language).

The article isn't deep, but reminds us how life's circumstance can derail any artist -- even one at the top of her form & fame (a few grammys too, for what that's worth). When facing great challenges -- dying parents, raising kids, and marital acrimony -- it's hard to focus on any job. When you are an artist, when your work flows directly from your spirit, energy and emotion, any distraction can totally sap you.

Not that I have any idea what's going on with our goddess, but just a thought as we continue to wait, trying to keep our toes from tapping. . . and hoping she a tad quicker than AB!!!

Who can think of other long waits for new releases -- especially those that were worth the wait???

Funny...I was just talking with someone about her music last week -- I really liked her albums, which seemed an odd addition to my music collection at the time to my friends (I guess teenagers are only supposed to like one kind of music...which these days is MTV crap). Nice to hear she's on the way back!
