Hi all,
I haven't been around here for a little while so forgive me if Iam repeating info you already have. Everybody have a look at the BBCi website and go to their BBC Radio 6 page where it tells you about their " DREAM TICKET " show every weeknight. Point being that the Cocteau Twins are featuring on Wednesday night ( BMT ) the 28/5/03 at around 10pm - 11pm.
Last night I caught Be Bop Deluxe live from 1978. Anyway if you are in The U.K. you can get Radio 6 on your FREEVIEW t.v. If you are outside the U.K. there is a REAL Player and WINDOWS player on the website that you can hear the show on as of tomorrow for at least a week. I don't know what performance they are transmitting but it is likely to be a good one. I hope you all manage to hear it one way or another.

Regards

Dino.:)

Any idea what they are playing? Glasgow 1983 is the only one I can remember being a live BBC recording.

Any idea whether recording on cable on a video tape means the sound comes through OK?

Any idea if you can record from the internet?

Any idea- yeah what Brett says. :-))

Thanks Leesa,
I must say the website is looking even more colourful and brighter than ever.
I think that BBC RADIO 6 is going to be a regular listen for me. They seem to be focusing on classic rock and indie music. I can't wait to hear the Cocteau's tonight as I have not really heard much of their live performances. Should be good.

Ciao

Dean.

.. assuming that you have Sky that is, which not everyone (including me) does!

however even though i won't be able to record this myself i'm gonna ask a good friend who works for the bbc (and was actually involved in the technical side of setting up radio 6). doesn't necessarily mean he'll have the means to record it at home but i'm gonna try him anyway.

and here's a summary (http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/help/listen.shtml) of how to listen to this show, which is on tonight (28th) from 10pm GMT (doesn't say when the cocteau bit is though).

It's just started. Janice described Liz as combining Kate Bush, Sheila Chandra and Chrissie Hynde but in an operatic style. Nice to see she talks as much BS now as she did all those years ago. And of course Sheila Chandra didn't produce a record (with Monsoon)until 1982 or so, so quite how she could be an infuence is an interesting concept.

It's the Mark Radcliffe session from 96 as on the BBC Sessions CD I think - sounds like it.

whoops - sorry Adam, hadn't refreshed and seen your previous post. For what it's worth therefore, please ignore the first part of this post and instead read "I agree with Adam" :)

well done lilly.
i didn't manage to get this recorded unfortunately. though it not being a live show, i'm not really too disappointed.

incidentally were the other band sets live?

I got it but, well, what's the point?

Ian, yes most of the other sets were live shows.
