Hello all,
The concept for this thread came at the dentist today.
They were scraping my teefs with some scary instruments..
I was all shot up with pain killer and breathing nitrous-oxide through my nose.
They let you wear a walkman while they do it and i brought Stars and Topsoil to keep me company..
woah..
I found myself floating in thick liquid which buckled and undulated with the waves of music...
I've got another appointment in two weeks and I can't wait..
Now I am not advocating drug use but I can't lie and say I don't smoke pot and when I was in my early twenties I did ALOT of psychedelic drugs (c'mon I lived in San Francisco).
Who here has tripped to the Twins?...
What are your thoughts on Cocteau Twins and Controlled Substances?
Looking forward to some diverse answers..

Who here has tripped to the Twins?
tripped.....that sounds like a past tense to me ;) i still trip to the twins.....i'm like you in that i gave up the nose candy et al quite some time ago....but i still do this 'n that. listening to their music is intoxicating without drugs but with drugs it becomes an even more surreal experience - especially victorialand! try that one next time you're at the dentist. you dentist will wonder why you've got such a big smile on yer face!

I am not joking when I say this but just last night I got stoned after not smoking pot for 8 yrs......*sigh*
I was so relaxed........i listened to evangeline first and started noticing that I felt the music was inside of me. My friends were laughing as they all knew that the pot had been "shaken" in E. of course I knew nothing af it........grrrrrr only that the fucking j kept popping like a firecracker
God almighty! I was rolling for a long long time and listening to a bunch of ct songs obsessedly. The music got louder and louder until the neighbors started banging on the walls.
agggghhhh head phones.........what a bliss! and the colors that my media player was putting out was unreal...I literally felt like I was melting into "My truth" I'm telling you got to try that mmmmender. lol

I've never done non-prescrip. drugs !
(I'm soooo boring! ;) )
Mind you, after a nice bottle of red, I've been spotted swirling around to 'My Liz' :D
Given the wide gammit of perscription drugs(at least as I know them here in the US), I consider them a considerable risk. Funny how often perscription drugs are regarded as so ordinary when they have had profound(sometimes negative) effects on people. If one is very austere about avoiding drugs, perscription drugs(in the general sense, not all of them) should be right up there on the list of experimental and risky.
although i've been completely clean of drugs for some years....i can understand why anyone would choose cocteau twins above and beyond any other band to listen to while under the influence.
I had done it a million times....but an overdose cured that for me!
Now i enjoy them sober.
word to the wise....NEVER listen to meatbeatmanifesto or aliensexfiend on drugs.
Amen to that!
been clean for sometime..i can tell you,
to evolve...they gotta go....it's something to go through.
if you live there....well.........another story.
some folks go get they're feet wet now and then..othe people like me...can't go back..
besides cocteau's ARE a drug...
;) Z.
