Well the "other arf" bought me my new "Cockatiel Twins" album........."Treasure".My thoughts ? F***ing awesome album ! Cant understand all this arse about it being so-called "outdated" and not particularly rated by some on here.sorry fellas but I totally disagree and this is coming from someone hearing an 1984 album for the first time in 2003. I absolutely love it !
My favourite has definately got to be "Ivo".what a start to an album.
Well thats two albums I own now and am I feckin chuffed Ive stumbled across the band albeit 20 bloody years late !
My only regret is I'll never see them "Live" like many of you.

you can still have that feeling (yes, all over again.....)
there is a whole new generation of young artists putting out albums rooting in the same sonic territories as the Cocteaus.
yeah, it takes some sleuthing to find em......but it's definitely worth the trouble.
heck, Donna Regina alone has made so many exquisite full length albums (eight since the early 1990's) and yet so few people know their work, probably because they work out of Germany; their music is sung in English, though, and is highly influenced by the Cocteaus style.....iow, they produce songs of (dare i suggest it here) the same gorgeous dreampop calibre.
yes, i do love the memory of the CT.
and yet, i refuse to stop the search for this particular kind of music just because they decided to throw in the towel some time back.
yes, indeed.....i still do get my thrills 'n chills every now and again; thanks to the brave young artists who have decided to pick up the heavenly CT baton and creatively run with it.
cheers.

NP, congratulations! I know I've stated several times my jealousy of those who are just now hearing ctblue for the first time, but it bears repeating. ;) You most certainly do have a wonderous journey ahead of you!
Fred, I do hope you keep us up to date on some more of these new artists! I know how heavily into it you are and must admit to being envious there, too. My biggest obstacle these days is money. I've never been so tight financially as I am right now. I still don't have Imperial ordered yet. (It's coming, I'm just waiting on my bank to send me my Visa check card) But I do still want to know who's out there, and where to find any MP3 singles that have been released.
And speaking of picking up the heavenly CT baton, I'm getting ready to go into lock-down in my studio next weekend with James. I wouldn't call it Cocteauesque, but it should be good, and I'll let you hear. :)

Ooh! Do tell, Luci-belle!
You have yer own studio? Me too. Call it a hobby. My own music is nothing at all like CT though (I wish )
Also, I absolutely LOVE your new avatar!

Everybody here envies your outlook at this point, and I'm no exception.
The mid-to-late 1980's was an absolutely euphoric time for me...CT seemed to put out something new almost every 6 months, and I'd be at the import shop on the day of release...couldn't wait to put the needle to the vinyl and...bliss out!
You have the advantage of grabbing anything you want in any order!
Definitely get Blue Bell Knoll next. I will be surprised if it doesn't instantly become your favorite. Then get the EP box set. Stop buying groceries. Buy more CT music. Once you have everything...then you may resume eating :D
Now, (slight off-topic shift) would you recommend Numan's "Hybrid"?
