I can't remember if I've already pre-ordered these or not, so I guess I'd better do it again :)

sounds gorgeous the perfect sound track to a lazy summer - just wish we had the sunshine to go with it
as much as i really love robin's solo albums id love to hear him really amp it up some times go for a more heavy distortion sound
but i don't want to sound like i dont enjoy these works because i do i love them to bits
Ahhh, they've switched it to 30 second clips now, it was the whole thing earlier.

all very listenable and floaty and relaxing, but dare I say it, too samey and unadventurous?

I think I heard that bad ass guitar from New Girl on some of the tracks.

+1.

not sure I agree with the "samey and adventurous" but that's based purely on 30 second clips .... can't wait to listen to the copy I have coming in the quiz prizes ;)
based on those clips "Mission Dolores" is my favourite - and the full version is on Robin's myspace page I believe.

As a lifelong fan of Bill Nelson, I have literally dozens of his albums that could fairly be described as 'samey', but it doesn't make me want them any less.
I'll keep buying Guthrie's stuff, no matter what he's doing. If it changes enough such that people stop comparing it to CT, such the better.
Money's a little tight right now, but I plan to buy the latest ones as soon as I can.
You can also get it off of emusic.

From the samples I've heard, it sounds like a superb effort, I like the variety of styles he's experimenting with, some of his best solo work in my opinion...

'Sparkle' is a standout for me...it's a sunny little tune.

Entirely agree - pity it's the shortest track on the album.
Am I alone in finding this album a little more relaxed and laid back than the last few? It just seems to be nicely chilled out and kind of flows along, like Robin was in a really happy mood when it was recorded. I like it a lot :)

I like "delight". It gets me horny. .."autochromes" is morbidly beautiful...and "waiting by the carousel" makes me want to drive off of a cliff. I love it. Thanks, RG.

it's been in heavy rotation on the iPOD.
great driving music.
;)
I like the long acoustic intro to track 5 (I think it is track 5). It's almost a shame the entire track isn't acoustic. I also like the last one "Little Big Fish" where you can barely hear the actual guitar sound underneath all the reverb. It's like an impressionistic reverb sound-painting. I love it.
My wife just thinks it's weird, though.
If Carousel was out on vinyl I'd have worn it out already!
