I am completely stunned by the news of Leesa's death. We had exchanged emails recently, and it sounded like her treatments were helping and that things were looking good. Honestly, I don't know what to say.
My sincerest condolences go to her children and family, and to everyone whose lives Leesa touched in this community. She was a tireless, energetic presence whose enthusiasm for our beloved Cocteau Twins and the individual band members was what brought so many of us together.
Weirdly, I spent several hours today cleaning and doing chores around the house, and decided to listen to Cocteau Twins all day--which I haven't done in ages. No more fitting tribute than that, even if it was unconsciously done.
Peace to you, Leesa. We'll miss you very much.
Love,
Michael
I did not know her but I remember my joy and exaltation when I discovered the first online cocteau twins connunity, back in 97 or 98. These are nice memories.
She helped building it, and I am grateful to her for that.
Right now my thoughts go to her familly and friends.

Peace mmmender. Your name is the one I associate most with the entire extended Cocteau web family. I was truly sad to hear the news this morning.
Dave in Dublin.
Just opened my computer, checked my mails and saw the message.
this is really sad.
never met her, we just exchanged mails about this or that (we had some disagreements, i LOVE milk & kisses, lol!) but the work she done for the purpose of keeping the music & the spirit of the Cocteau Twins, our dearest band, is a great achievement.
she (& her family & friends) must be proud of this.
we & simon & robin & liz & lucy won't forget her.
sleep well leesa.
as we say here "bon voyage".

I haven't talked to leesa in a few years and I never did get the chance to meet her, but with her help and encouragement I expanded both my knowledge and collection of Cocteau Twins. It felt like a punch to the heart when I read the news...

*SIGH* I am on the forum infrequently at best.
I am absolutely shocked. I had no idea she was battling this, and now she is gone - eight years younger than myself.
I never met Leesa, but she symbolized "Online Cocteau Community" to me, and this forum has provided happiness, and at times, even comfort.
I was just at my old college this weekend, at a local surviving record store.
I found a copy of Lullabies to Violaine volume 2. I already have the import box version, but I thought of buying this as well. Completism, and all that.
I remember thinking, "I know Leesa has them all" . . .
So unfair. I don't know whether to bliss out with Victorialand, or punch a wall . . .

I only met her once, at the first Cocteaufest in 2003, but Leesa's smile put me at ease among strangers.
It's always strange and sad to hear of someones passing at such a young age, especially when children are involved. But I wish her family the best and hope that the community, and band, will never forget her contributions.

I keep writing things then erasing them.
Because when these things happen, words are not enough.
But I feel I should say something.
How about 'Thanks Leesa'
Michael wrote "My sincerest condolences go to her children and family, and to everyone whose lives Leesa touched in this community. She was a tireless, energetic presence whose enthusiasm for our beloved Cocteau Twins and the individual band members was what brought so many of us together"
I couldn't put it better.

Apologies if this sounds cheesy, I think your music says it all, now and always ...
but I know exactly what you mean, I've been trying to put some words down, on and off all morning and still can't arrive at something that truly expresses how I feel at the moment ...
perhaps later ...
My English isn't good enough to write down what I'm feeling and thinking.
Sad to say no more words...
Just to echo the previous posters - all sympathy to Leesa's family and friends. Her endeavours for the community were, and are still, appreciated.

She accomplished SO much and gave these gifts to us all. I had just recently friended her on facebook and found out what was happening. Years ago I used to be on the older site a lot and met some amazing people and found huge amounts of awesome music, because of her. What a force she was, I wish I could be as impacting on this world as she was. A profound loss.

I'm shocked and saddened, she just wished me happy birthday a few weeks back and I just assumed all was well. She did so much for all of us who have been brought together through this forum and the lovely band Cocteau Twins. I will miss her very much, she sure had spirit and soul. My sympathy to her family. Rest in Peace.
Love,

With a heavy and saddened heart, I am compelled to contribute my words to this conversation. Though I have had limited conversations with Leesa over the years that I have been on this forum, her presence was always so strong on this site. I felt that she allowed me to connect on a more intimate level with my favorite band. For that, I am grateful. Your presence will be missed...

Couldn't believe it when I got the email telling me about her passing...
I agree that you just don't have words for these situations..well at least I can't come up with any that I think are appropriate to express my shock and sadness...
My sincerest condolences to her family and to the souls that she was close to ...

It's been hard to listen to CT and not tear up a bit. Robin's "Up in air" just opened the flood gates listening to it today. :crying:
Lee's just e-mailed me less than two weeks ago to befriend me on facebook and wish me luck on my future surgery. She did mention she was not feeling that great. But this...like you all, I'm in complete shock! I was SO looking forward to hopefully meeting her one day. She's has givin me and I'm sure a lot of you all so much over these last 11 years, she will forever be in my heart.
Here's to you mmmender, Thank you for all the milk & kisses (her favorite hehe). Suckling you always. XXOO.

I've never posted here, but I am compelled to just say, thank you, Leesa, for your immense work with this website and everything to do with Cocteau Twins. It has always been palpable your passion for this- well, your obsession- and you have made such a difference to a lot of people and this world. That is something to be proud of. I have a lot of memories of being on this site throughout the years, I believe starting in the late 90s. It is a sad shock to read the email about your passing. May you burl forever, intertwined in different categories in the cosmos.

Thanks for that excellent post
I never met Leesa, but her newsletter messages have agreeably crossed my life. I'm deeply sad. Overhead, dancing among the timeless Cocteau melodies. Just so I want to think about her, now. Farewell.
I've been at a loss for words since I heard about Leesa through Facebook. Ironically she recently found me there and we were able to PM again.
I just wanted to share my condolences to her many friends here. She touched so many lives with her passion and humor.
I'm really sad...
thanks dear Leesa for your love about our Cocteau twins....thanks really so much
GRAZIE.

For the folks on this list who knew Lee's, is it not hard to listen to CT without tearing up a little? Will sting a bit for awhile for me. One of my best friends was a CT nut also, and he pasted 15 years ago. I'll just have to think of em both good whenever I listen, that's all. It's bittersweet. Miss them both!
