I really like the Sundays' cover of Wild Horses. Haven't really gotten into much else tho. Any recommendations?

The Summertime (do those lovely, country-ish guitars remind you of CT/FCC era too?) single is brilliant, comes with a lovely live version of "Here's Where the Story Ends"

It has to be their first album, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, released 1989. You'll find that The Sundays basically sound the same on each recording, and what the do, they do very well. The last I heard about them the main band members (Harriet & David) were more interested in having a family rather than making a new record, although that doesn't mean they're finished at all yet.

They've only released 3 albums since they started in '88 -- the others being Blind from '92 and Static & Silence in 1997

Recommended for mp3 download; you know, just as a taster, nothing else mind :):

Hideous Towns
My Finest Hour
Here's Where The Story Ends
Homeward
When I'm Thinking About You
Monochrome
24 Hours
I Feel
Cry
So Much

They've done an awesome 'Black Session' and few 'Peel Sessions' as well.

Take it eazy, iceblink! ;)

I'll give some of those MP3's a try (just as a taster, of course).

No probs :)

I forgot to mention that when they performed "My Finest Hour" at their live 'Black Session', the guy, who spoke French (i don't - surprise surprise) mentioned The Cocteau Twins.

I'm just wondering if there are any French Cocteau Twins & Sundays fans out there who could translate what he is saying after that song?

Hmmm... that would be interesting to know. Maybe he says:

"Yes, that was pretty good. Almost as good as the Cocteau Twins." ;-)

Perhaps MCocteau or one of our other French friends can help us out here...
