What is this talented technical genius doing since the closing of September Sound? Did he take the broken battery embedded in lucite that marked the door belonging to his 'fix it' chamber in the dear old studio when you all left? Last I knew he married a Connecticut woman and sent me some beautiful 'one off' tapes, where is he hiding out? Robin, did you find a little 'techie closet' for him in France? He seemed like a keeper.....

aha..the guru of whom you speak lingers in the ghost of september sound, long after we realised that we could not sustain it as a working studio, and continues to work in the same chair(which I'm sure I paid for) for mr pete townshend, he of the flailing arms....I have recently seen a picture of him, naked, with his new line 6 variax, so I assume that things are going well for him in his usual style....

Robin,
Thanks for the update. I figured after all the fine work Lincoln did with CT's he would not be looking for work very long. He was obviously amused by me on that day I met him back at SS in 1997, he sat eating a bowl of pasta with a big grin on his face as I explained my wild plans to find the studio and render offerings to the guitar Gods, while on vacation with my beautiful and tolerant wife. I remember singing to him the bits I recalled of 'Touch Upon Touch' since I didn't know it existed in recorded form at that point. He stopped Tate San, wearing his wintry Moose pattern sweater, on the way to the kitchen (with the lucite embedded mushroom on the door!) and we both hummed it to Mitsuo, who came back with 'Green'/"Touch Upon Touch"...ahhh, it was a highlight in my life. He also chuckled at my bad American 'angry Townshend' impersonation. So he is still in the little 'tech closet', it does make sense, he had a slow, peaceful and methodical way about him right at home there......I wonder if the Iceblink Luck poster still hangs over the work bench? That Variax sure is getting some good press, seems like a very good imposter guitar for a good price. Just tell Lincoln when you talk to him to not use Pete T's computer!

p.s. If you play the Variax naked is it designed for you to rest certain body parts on the back of the guitar so as the tremelo springs do not pluck certain short hairs?
