Well, apparently a good number of female singers are getting inspiration from the good ol' Fraser these days, or so it seems. Don't know why is this happening at the time -for a start, you don't hear a lot of talk about the Cocteaus lately- but thing is, trying to keep up with new music I've been coming across a bunch of girls who use the Liz template as a sort of starting point. Just a coincidence? Or maybe there's a dream pop second coming up in the air even as we speak.

Anyway, a few examples. Some more cocteau-sy than others. Will try to keep the thread updated if you guys dig some of it.

I'm so glad there are people like you who find interesting stuff on you tube and the like, I especially like Grimes, and the comment from one user:

''Cocteau Twins on meth and acid both playing music in space!''

''Cocteau Twins on meth and acid both playing music in space!''

Great quote! Didn't see that one before, but I guess the connection is obvious. Glad I'm not the only one pointing that out. Grimes is amazing and totally home made btw, she does everything by herself with the only aid of some computer gadget, or something like that. Cool, huh?

Thanks for posting this, somehow I've missed this post before..

Already knew (and love) Glasser, but never heard any of the others. I especially liked Grimes ... and Floral reminded me of Blonde Redhead (in a good way, of course)

I'd say Warpaint, Beach House, Anneli Drekker (from Bel Canto but now solo and working with Royksopp) and Fever Ray (ex singer of The Knife and also sings with Royksopp) plus Lykke Li.
