Hello ! Fellow Cocteau lovers !

just wanted to let the forum know that we have put together a COCTEAU TWINS tribute for those who are in the San Antonio, TEXAS & surrounding areas ! We figured.. why do places like New York get to have all the Cocteau FUN!?! :-D this will be a night DEDICATED TO The Cocteau Twins and we will have give-a-ways, trivia, drink specials, video projections, and more !

We are looking forward to this event ! Long Over Due in the Lone Star State !

Nope. As far as I know this is the first tribute that's happened. There used to be a thing called Club Violaine and they'd play maybe one or two CT songs but it wasn't enough to keep me going.

hey there postlibyan (http://cocteautwinsforums.com/member.php?u=253) ! yeah we normally get a pretty good turn out for these events.. the last one i did was a general . dreampop / shoegazer sorta night.. and that went pretty well.. but this is THE FIRST TIME anyone has done a COCTEAU TWINS TRIBUTE here in San Antonio.. and any other surround area that i am aware of.. probably since the 80's - 90's ! Alot of my friends are from the original San Antonio Underground Musik scenes back in the 80's with clubs like Phazez and Changez which were the only places you could hear this sort of musik back then. so we have a strong support of locals who are still Love with this Musik and will be in attendance this September. We plan on playing a majority of the CT catalog and we are Very Serious about doing so ! I myself have been to ALOT of tribute nights where only a hand full of songs are played from the artist that they are supposed to be paying tribute to that night.. so we are going to be extremely selected about what gets played this night ! some of the bands you will hear are : Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, Medicine, LowLife, Massive Attack, Violet Indiana, Swallow, Dead Can Dance, SlowDive, Jesus and Mary Chain, Curve, etc.. etc.. it will be a very eclectic mix.. but Mainly all the CT related projects.. i hope we can get the word out to all those fans out there who have been out of place in the San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas.. i know they're out there .. but i know they've been pretty bored and jaded with most of the club events and nights that go on here in SA.. Any help in rounding up all the CT fans in the San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas .. would be definitely appreciated !!

hey angel. yeah i been to Club Violaine.. that was in Los Angeles... and i was there when they had A Tribute to Lush.. it was a pretty fun night from what i recall.. but yeah, the did seem to stray away from playing and CT or Lush for that matter ... i wonder if they are still doing that night..

lol.. i heard of Joey's that the bar next to The Mix on N Saint Marys.. right? ha ! they have Cocteau Twins on their jukebox?! oh wait, you say its one of those new downloadable jukebox players.. those are neat ! btw.. the old Sin13 crew just started doing Wednesday nights @ Venom.. which is the bar next door to the left of Joey's.. they are doing a New Wave night.. but they also put SHOEGAZER on the flyer?? maybe you can squeeze a Cocteau Song out of the DJ and save your quarters .. lol !

I would really like to go to this sometime. I just moved to Austin several months ago...I don't know about a drive to San Antonio for just one night though.
