I don't know, but an image search for 'whale's tail' gets some amusing results :giggle:

As far as I know, there is only one studio version, which appears once, on Victorialand (and is approx 3:15 long). What makes you think there may be an alternative version?
Are you thinking of the version that's on one of The Black Sessions CDs?
I dont know, I read what another person whrote ina page of a friend about 2 different versions of this song.

Is Victorialake any good? I've never heard it. (If I want more of Victorialand I usually just put it back on again...)

A useful thread - thank you! I had a horrible preminition that the remixes would have dance beats put all over them, or that they would be like the Otherness abominations :crying:
And then I found I had the Victorialake remixes of "Lazy Calm", "Fluffy Tufts" and "Oomingmak" hidden away on my computer after all....

I remember Victorialake being someone's pet project of splicing the original songs to appear longer, simply repeating sections, making the song structures less concise.
It's not terrible, but also adds nothing to the original recording.

yeah. the creator was Israeli -- DJ Jelly i think he went by. i traded some bootlegs for a copy, so if someone is desperate to hear it i could upload it somewhere. i found it disconcerting -- when i would expect a new instrument to come in, or the song to change, it would just keep going. to give him credit, it sounded really good. that is, if someone didn't know, they would think it was the original...

I've posted Lazy Calm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI13x0qf9RE) on youtube in the 9 minute (as opposed to the 6 minute) version for the curious. It does sound very good, because nothing's really been added or taken away, but it is rather a pointless exercise. (The images are of the Victorialand artwork.)
Victorialake was "created" by Maor Avni under the name Jellyfish.
