Hi, I have only just started listening to the Cocteau Twins. I much prefer the Analogue sound to digital so I would like to know when the CT's stopped using Analogue masters and when over to digital? I'm guessing that up to 1986 at least CT's were still using Analogue? I am asking because I would like to buy CT's albums on cassette and would like to know which albums would definately have been recorded from an analogue source?
Thanks.

I didnt think they ever used digital masters, did they?... unless it was like BBK and after..

if you were looking for analog recordings of analog masters, that would be vinyl. From the early 80s.
Cassettes and albums were being processed digitally by the mid 80s if I remember right.
Thats why so many early compact discs sounded so horrid. Analog master to digital mix to digital copy.

I'm babbling. But I think even if you found a CT cassette of Treasure from 1986, you were still getting an analog tape of a digital mix of a analog master.

All I know is: the vinyl sounded best.

Thanks, should I be posting this question on the Robin Guthrie forum or can I contact him directly about this? (Sorry I'm new here).
