Hi Friends of cocteautwinsforums

I finally find some place where i belong . . . As a exhaustive CT´s FAN

For almost last 2 years i´ve been working on writing down the MOST ACCURATE & EXACT LYRICS for AAAAAAALLLLLLLL CT´s songs, included all LPs all EPs & all SINGLEs

At least all mp3 that i can find on the net

But i REALLLYYY need your help, because i´m an spanish talker, i do know some english words, but i need some ENGLISH TALKER to ask if he/she can PLEEEEEEASEEEE revise, look at, inspect my lyrics for find & correct any mistakes that i may have done, specially in the SINGLEs and EPs that is where Liz sings the most strange words i even heard, i know that she sings in many forms & ways, BUT PLEEEEEASEEEEEE HELP ME!

I´m thinking about make my first BLOG with this material, but before that i need someone to help me correct my lyrics, right now i´m correcting my own corrections starting from the last SINGLE "Dials" to the first LP "Garlands" and my wish is to write down AAAALLLLL the songs, even those ones that sounds like undescyphrable murmurs or babbles, like "An Elan" or "High Monkey Monk" in wich one i found myself inventing words :
:superconfused:
"Bersamiiiiiiii
rumyi out yeah yohv too

Franillaaaaaaaaaa
snarg yiah mba mjoy
Tramidaaaaaaaaa
yiyost ya doo daa understand and see me have no joy
yiyost ya doo daa doo do do do do doooooo ":superconfused:

So please i´ll be eternally gratefull if someone make the effort neccessary to help me with this HARD WORK that i´m in.

Thanks you so so so much :shout:
Peter.

Hi Peter,

This is a poetic task you are doing, and it's going to be difficult because there are no 'officially correct' lyrics published anywhere, except for the few lines on the inside sleeve of the Head Over Heels LP, and Robin Guthrie confirming the line "The devil bites dirty, we wax and wane". Beyond that, it's mostly a guessing game.

Believe me: many have tried, but even the biggest fans arrive at different interpretations.

Good luck.

I have an alternative view. If you think of Liz's vocals as another instrument rather that 'normal' vocals it solves the problem.

Personally I don't care what words Liz is singing, just that she adds a brilliant 'something' to the sound that the band makes. Yes its possible to make out the odd word but I'm still not sure if the words I hear are correct anyway. One reason some of us aren't keen on 4CC is that the words are more understandable.

Actually, I'm with you 100% on this. I don't WANT to know what the 'real' words are. Never did. That would dispel the magic for me.

I always though that they had some kind of surrealistic poetry.
The words didn't form a real phrase, but give us sensations and emotions, like in a abstract painting...

But I always wonder what words/sounds Liz are doing, just to know what to do when I'm (trying) to sing those songs...

There are several interpretations.
Those I find more reliable are one of those many treasures that Leesa have left for us...
You can find them here:

Hi friends
Thank you so much for your posts, I totally accept and understand the ones that don´t want to know what are the words/sounds that Liz is singing. But i think the same that midsummer thinks :
" I always wonder what words/sounds Liz are doing, just to know what to do when I'm (trying) to sing those songs..."
And i thank you very much for the link of Leesa, and i felt very happy when i see that "The High Monkey Monk" has a link, but when i opened it was blank, very sad, because of that, the first thing that i want to do is to propose my version of all those songs that don´t have any lyrics posted.
But i need some help with some words that i don´t know and with the songs like "The High Monkey Monk" in wich i wrote down the phonetic sounds as it sounds to me, but maybe in english they sound different, because of the pronunciation, or maybe they are real words in english that i don´t know. . .

Does somebody know a site where i can upload my lyrics for you to revise it? Can i do it here? What do you think is more popular and easy to find : a blog, a webpage, wiki-lyrics, this forum, other forum, or others? Please help me with that.

Well, now i´ll go to continue with my infinite work on Liz vocals, i had very good results using the Windows Media Player that allows you to decrease the rate to hear the sounds very slow, and because i wrote down the background vocals in the exact place where it goes under the lead vocals to all the lyrics, that i think is a good improve, upgrade, enhancement to the lyrics that are already posted.

Thanks
Peter Spinetta

I have read an interview, where Liz talks about her lyrics.
I can't find it again, but if I do, I'll leave the link.

She said that in some period, she picked up words from dictionaries in several languages, and she has put them together, and the only meanning was the sound of the words.

I think "The High Monkey Monk" was in that time.

I have no doubt: the first word is ROSALIE (LOL)
In Pink Orange Red, it seems, she says several latin names...
perhaps you'll find some others spanish words or names...

There is in the forums, an old thread (I only found it once), in there people feel free to say everything they understand...

Melonella is full of the latin names of different types of butterflies or moths.

BIG THANKS to ScottyBHP for the lyrics of DONIMO, that one is one of the little few that i dont have any word, so infinite thanks!!!

THANKS to Midsummer for the "ROSALIE" it sounds to me like a spanish personal and female name, here in CHILE we say : ROSALÍA as a name for a girl.

Hi Friends

How are you? I hope that very fine.
Thanks again for all your posts.
Now, i want to ask for your help with the Lyrics of "VICTORIALAND" Album, any help will be very appreciated. I have troubles trying to figure out the lyrics, because my mother language is spanish, i know some ENGLISH words, but certainly, not as much as you, english talkers, do.

Thanks so very much.
Petter Spinetta.
