View Full Version : The Coctones
Greetings, all.
I thought that this beautiful music deserved to be heard again in live performance, so I formed a cover band. The Coctones are a seven-piece – three vocalists, three guitars, bass, and I programmed the drums. You can listen to a set we performed in Seattle in March at http://soundcloud.com/world-abounding/sets/the-coctones/. We'll have video before long. I hope you enjoy our take on the songs!

Well done - it was strange recognising the music at first and then adjusting to the vocals in terms of comparison with Liz. After listening a few time and ditching the instinctive vocal recognition comparison I loved it well done - none of us could have done it - do you do your own music ??

Thanks! Yes, I make my own music, too. In recent years I've been specializing in long-form solo electric guitar improvisation, majorly influenced by Robin, Harold Budd, Robert Fripp, Brian Eno... The "TTS" pieces on my Soundcloud page are recordings of live performances, collected at http://soundcloud.com/world-abounding/sets/tuning-the-space-2011/
I've got a few CDs of shorter pieces available through Amazon and the iTunes Store. My music (and a lot of Robin and Harold's) is featured on the SomaFM.com (http://somafm.com/) Drone Zone and Mission Control stations, and the You Are Listening To stations (http://youarelisteningtolosangeles.com/).

Thank you – it's been an adventure in sound design, music directorship, and comraderie, and then there's the sheer power of this music at stage volumes coming from one's own instrument!
