I think Amelia together with Beatrix are vastly underrated on Treasure... my favourite tracks on that release

Musette

"Beatrix" is my absolute favourite on that disc. Totally unlike anything else they've ever done, and just so beautiful.

Just to toss in my agreement about Amelia and Beatrix, really...I have to say I do like Treasure quite a bit...these songs are right there with Otterly, Pandora and Aloysius....anymore, when I do get the the (somewhat infrequent) urge to put in Treasure, I tend to listen to the whole thing, though I do at times start with Persephone as I am probably most tired of Ivo and Lorelie and never liked them as much. Persephone was one that grew on me for some odd reason.

In general, all of the Aikea Guinea and Love's Easy Tears EP's have been spinning at work. And I just now had an urge to put in Garlands, haven't popped it in for a while....

....i agree; the mmmender avatar portrait has a 1930's Hollywood glamour feeling to it......very Katherine Hepburn/Marlene Deitrich in feeling.......pensivelylovelyseductive.

but then (to me) Leesa has fast become a kind cyber-super-star.

and i am soooooo in awe of she.

the picture fits.

Am I awful for not liking "Pandora"?

I like "Ivo". "Lorelei" gets overplayed, though - I agree. I love "Persephone" - even after having heard Diva Destruction's butchery of it, live.

Never listen to Diva Destruction.

(Has anyone heard Faith and Disease's cover of "Amelia"? They are so hit-and-miss as a band I've been a bit afraid to listen to that track)

I like Lorelei... I don't see how anyone couldn't but I would put it down as a good song becasue to me it's one of the obvious "classics".

As Leesa and a few others mentioned, my three favorite songs usually rotate on a whimsically periodic basis. Nonetheless, I doubt the luster of ice-pulse shall ever fade, for it was to that song that I fell madly in love (later unrequited love, and thus became associated with Lorelei :toilet: ) with the most beautiful and mettled woman I've ever known...

Anyhoo, the current CT triumvirate consists of:

Orange-Appled
Love's Easy Tears
Oomingmak (Instrumental)

Mine's should be:

Ella Megalast Burls Forever: get goosebumps all the time with that fantastic melancholical ending in the final minute.

Mud and Dark: why wasn't this gem on Four Calendar Café!???
Proves again that the best tracks are often found on singles and ep's. At least what the cocteaus are concerned.

Heaven or Las Vegas: poppy as hell and cool just the same.
Best of the late singles.

Three swept: catchy, heavenly...just gorgeous. thought it's hard to track down apparently.

Watchlar: don't know why realy...just like it very much.
Is that ok with you folks?????

Ribbed and Veined: one of the few instrumentals but there's something ever so catchy about it. Am I the only one who likes this one?

Eggs and their shells: killer bass-line...great introspective mood....simply blissful.

Well...

Today I choose:

Carolyn's Fingers, again, because it recalls me running in a golden corn field with a shiny blue sky above my little crazy head!

Eyes Are Mosaics, because of Liz' sweet non verbal singing

Hitherto, because it's so f*****g cool!

That's all folks!
