View Full Version : Cocteau publicity @ gig
Wore my Stars & Topsoil shirt to the gig tonight, just to see if it would spark any interest in good ole Alabammy...
Guess they couldn't see it much behind the drums, but when I milled around between sets I did meet a few folks who'd actually heard of them. Of course, there were some 'Cockatoo Twins' blunders, and for the first time I heard "Coctaw Twins." Yeesh.
But I was pleasantly surprised that quite a few people recognized them; one guy even said to our guitarist "you finally got somebody with taste in your band."
The gig was filmed for broadcast on a new music show for Comcast cable. Tried to do my part to put a little Cocteau PR out there... we'll see if it even shows up on the little screen...maybe if you squint real hard.

Shouldn't paint in such a small room, zed! http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/cwm/cwm/freak3.gif
...just felt like the thread belonged in here, seeing as it was about ctblue ...even if just on a T-shirt. ;) I think what you did was great, xush!! Never hurts to advertise, right? And yeah, I have to say that 'Coctaw twins' is a new one to me, too! roflmao
Thanks for straightening me out, Lucibelle. Still feeling my way around here...
Now if I can just get the band to do a CT cover my mission will be accomplished.

Not a problem, like I said, it was a tough call since it was and wasn't about ctblue at the same time. ;)

I'm a little confused, xush. Is your band Analog Missionary, or something else? I LIKE the Analog Missionary stuff! I've been listening just now. Good stuff! :) But I want to be sure I have the right band as yours...

I *started* to suggest that this thread be moved to Pandora's. But I decided not to cuz I'm always gettin' onto you guys about moving threads. Thought you might be getting tired of it  ;-)

Is the photo above inspired by the classic Pretenders song "Rat In Pocket"?
What the hell is that thing?
Phil..........you know i have an intrest in these things,.....trust me here,
i've got it on good authority, that that ,"thing",..is indeed ,.......................get this,.....................a, dog.!!!

Yes, I'm presently drumming with Analog Missionary. They're a little slow to update the website...
Xush studios is my humble recording establishment, but I recently hooked up with AM when their last drummer spontaneously combusted. I've got a page of AM gig pics (http://www.xush.net/gigs.htm) on my site, and the audio samples are accesible thru the
Analog Missionary site (http://www.gulftel.com/marshill/cd.html).
Anstrom is an awesome singer. It's the first time I've been in a band that I thought could handle some ctblue material. Can't pass that opportunity up!
and the famous furry four-legger is Fibi, the bionic Italian Greyhound.
She's a little bigger than that now... You do not want to provoke her.

You do not want to provoke her.
That's right, Xush, I don't.
What I want to do involves a hair-trigger trap, a skewer and some tomato relish.
...here's my boy,......".activior rococo." roco for short. 10 weeks old....he's flying in on british airways in one week.
btw...i've got a good friend with italian greyhounds. and Phil, i'm here ta tell you that they are every bit as tasty as you'd imagine!

I don't know, in the case of an IG, I think your pangs might persist. Not a lot of meat on those bones; notice the 'see-through' legs...

beautiful, beautiful dogs, especially yours, zed. i just love how unique his face is, i can't remember what breed that is, and maybe you said and i just didn't read closely enough, but they are gorgeous.
alli,..roco is an english bull terrier.
and yes, at least to me,.....and hopefuly to a few breeders and judges,.....he is a very, very beautiful example of his breed.
thanks,....:)

Zed, after all that fuss over naming your dog, I still can't remember how you decided to pronounce it!
So, is it "roco" as in ROW-koe, or like the name ROCCO, with two C's?
--Alan
Alan'...............(AL-ANi picked "ROW-KOE. after leesa's suggestion,.."rococo." his full name is "activior rococo."
it is sure to haunt the poor bugger all his life,..as most people think bull terriers are "pit-bulls" and so will assume it's pronounced "ROCK-O."
to quote andy warhol again,.."you can never tell anybody anything."
he'll be here friday evening!! waited three years for him ....
pics at elven.
