if you haven't heard the news or you haven't received your bella union update about robin leaving london and moving to rennes, france then read this news post (http://www.herb-bauer.com/~leesa/cocteautwins/vBulletin/full/showthread.php?s=&threadid=276)

i'm curious to know what people think & feel about this move. do you think this will mean more of a euro flare to future bella union signings? will robin finally learn how to speak french properly?;)

i think for me...it means i finally have to break out of denial..yeah sure...i've always been subtly cognizant of the fact that they were NEVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER...that the last album would always remain unfinished...but this....this really makes it real to me for some reason...this and the closing of September Sound...

well september sound has been closed for some time watchy!

i've said it before and i'll say it again......."denial ain't just a river in egypt honey" :D

yeah i suppose robin's move is a sad one but it all depends on how you look at it....it could mean the end of an era but it could also mean the start of a new one. i think robin just needs a change, perhaps he's feeling a bit stuck and wants to have new influences and new surroundings to help get the creative juices flowing again.

i'm trying my best to see this as a positive move!!

but it's hard knowing that liz is in bristol......simon's in london......and now robin's in france!!!

(it's time for a cocteauholics meeting, i'm getting all funky and nervous....where did i put that membership card?.....where's that whiskey?.....WHERE'S MY SPONSOR?):p

SPONSOR...LOL

i know...i was in denial when S.S. Cocteau closed...but this just makes it real for me...I know...I Have SERIOUS issues over Liz's decision to leave in the middle of making that album...I've never come to terms with it...maybe I need to cry some more...till i know why some more...or somthing...ugh

I'm with Watchlar on the closing of September sound..that really did it for me. When I read about that, I pretty much threw in the towel on future new cocteau recordings. One aspect of Robin's move to France, is the bella union update stated he was building is own studio...which gives me hope he has many more years of music remaining and may colloraborate with Simon again some day. I've given up on Ms. Fraser. I wish her well.

for the record the studio he's building will actually be in his house.

september sound closed? wow i'm totally out of the loop.
what are simon's plans? is robin still going to be dealing with bella union? these may seem like stupid questions....sorry.

jana, yep september sound closed a few years ago.....the building owner, pete townsend (the who) was charging far too much for rent so they ditched. they've moved bella union headquarters not too far from their original spot in twickenham....only thing is they've been having to rent studio space. simon still does the bella union thing everyday and robin plans to continue to work with bella union, only doing it from france, while also having his own studio in his house. i'm sure this will help with costs but sounds like a real logistics nightmare to me.

no my hair has been dark for the past 8 months or so. I originally tried to load the current avatar but it came across blurry so i used the old blonde photo..
anyhow i figured out the problem and solved it in order to use the new one =)

george costanza is a fucking god i tell you. Seinfeld as a whole is a bit of a let down 99% of the time to me....but george is that oh so needed redeeming quality.

oh and here is the larger version of that photo....you might be able to tell the exact color a bit better....Photo (http://a7.cpimg.com/image/43/75/12947267-da59-0146012C-.jpg)
