Have you visited Warsaw recently?
It may explain your sudden fascination with polls.

I'm surprised "Ice-Pulse" is in the lead. Don't get me wrong I love the song, though I do think it sounds as if they created it really fast using bits from other songs (i.e., blue bell knoll). Who knows...maybe that one took longer.

Poor Frosty indeed. That has always been my favorite up until not so long ago. I love it because it sounds more like HOLV. It's the bridge to FCC for me. I have been listening to FCC a lot these days. It's so intensely personal and the production doesn't get any better. I chose the acoustic version of Bluebeard as my favorite because it's so unique. I think the album version of that song is possibly the epitome of Cocteaux radio friendly. It's such beautiful pop. The stripped down acoustic quality of the b-side proves the strength of the song. Liz sounds really good too. On another note, has anyone else paid much attention to the little bit Robin contributed to The Veldt's 'Afrodisiac' album? The track 'Shaved' has him as a guest guitarist. He plays an acoustic version of his Bluebeard solos in the background. It's really nice. Short but terribly sweet.

Thank you stratton for the insight and the tip about Veldt...I did not know that.
You are always so eloquent when you post about the beloved Twins...

I voted for Mud And Dark.
I found it hard to choose as all the tracks mentioned are better than the majority of FCC

MUD AND DARK, a song sooooooo good from my least-favourite CT period.
Sadly, and it has to be said, they were all of a fairly poor standard around that time.

Even Mud and Dark, Brett?
I'll re-appraise that one tonight then but I'm unconvinced. Not my favoured era for b-sides I'm afraid. (Or albums, a-sides, EP's, artwork........etc etc)
Ugh

I had to play the Evangeline CD again to be able to vote on this one, and found out I actually really like Mud and Dark. But I have to agree with Brett, its one of my least favorite CT era's which is probably why I havent played this single much. A shame cause like I said Mud and dark is lovely.
Played it. Loathed it. Still digging the candyfloss out from behind my teeth.
At least I tried Goddamnit

i have to agree with brett (brett, you missed out live shows in your worst of list) - they were dark days, although bluebeard did help me wake up to the fact i was in the wrong relationship. i don't feel the same need to listen to it now, now i listen to it for pleasure - bloody fab song really, thanks guys and gal

Can't remember how I voted because I like all the Four-Calendar Café era B-sides pretty much equally
FCC is a beautiful album! Granted, the artwork and tour were not the hottest, but tracks like the gorgeous Know Who You Are At Every Age, the pretty yet vaguely ominous Mud & Dark, both Bluebeards, etc. easily trump most of Milk & Kisses
I think the FCC-era songwriting is much stronger and cleaner than M&K, with a refreshing edge of experimental melancholia-pop. In one fell swoop they even out-Sunday The Sundays with the amazing Squeeze-Wax
(Don't know about that Stuart Smalley-esque "I'm doing a fine job" bit though) ;)
I love them all really. Ice-Pulse love that loop. Wow Stratton is nice to read you.
