Why did CT split?

Probably I`m the only one here that doesn`t know why CT split and I really want somebody to tell me.I hope they had a good reason.

I also suspect despite the public front, there was a falling out between Robin and Liz that could not be reconciled. Now, let me state this is just MY OPINION based on what I have read, I may be, completely wrong. There was an article in MOJO magazine published in October 1999, entitled "Minky, fluffy, pearly, gone" where the author states, "Mercury debut Four Calender Cafe was their Rumours, had we only known at the time. " I don't really know, only they do, but I suspect that personally they are so far apart that any reconcilation will be years away, if at all.

I honestly don't find it surprising cocteau twins broke up after 16 years. I find it more surprising they didn't do it earlier! I suppose that is in no small part to the wonderous quality of their music.

I feel they had taken the 'Cocteau Twins' as far as they could and to carry on would have been a mistake.

It's clear all 3 wanted to move onto solo stuff and I can't help but smile when I see newer pictures of Liz looking so much more confident than she seemed at the beginning.

She was so young and now she's a stunning woman. :) *sigh*

It's strange because we were pregnant and divorced at around the same time - I was also partly attracted to my ex because he looked a lot like Robin !!!!! :eek: and I was going through a 'dress like/ have my hair like Liz' phase! (have to dig out some photos ! )

I hate to be picky, but Robin and Liz were never married, so a divorce couldn't have happened.
