I have very few...but I love the versions of Whales Tails and Aikea Guinea from the Detroit '90 show.

I love the Pitch the Baby from the Olympia '96

And from the Groningen '85 I love Quisquose, Millimillenary and Pepper Tree.

From BBC Sessions(if those count) I really liked Alas Dies Laughing and Half Gifts, and many others on there, great discs those are, well worth getting...

I don't know about those myself fraserfaye...

I was thinking about that 50 50 clown version on BBC later on, yeah I love that version...though I like the album version plenty well. There are only 3 or 4 songs on the BBC set I don't like as much as(or more than) the album version....

This might be cheating, but I find the BBC (live?) version of Feathers Oar Blades simply rocks

fraserfaye, do you have the Seekers live White Room version? This one REALLY rocks! It was done for a UK TV show, so there's a nice bootleg video of it too.

Your list of CT live stuff is definitely not complete! I've got about 40 bootleg CT concerts, and I know I don't have nearly all the ones that are available. You should check out the ct.org Gigography section (Treasure Chest-->Gigography). This is a very comprehensive list of CT concerts, and it indicates if an audio or video bootleg exists for each show.

I don't like any of them - they were awful live, as I've said here on many occasions.

Let's put it this way - if I'd been exposed to their live stuff before their studio stuff, I'd never have been into them.

See my previous threads regarding the lack of backing singers. What was the point of creating such lush, rich layers of vocals and then not even attempting to recreate them on stage?

OK, I won't kick that one off again.

Well, the music was very loud and noisy. And I remember they were using a tape recorder to reproduce the drums and percussions !
We all get to the concerts to SEE this so discreet group.

Though Liz said she doesn't understand why people use to listen their albums so loudly !

I really like the whole Groningen 85 concert. I think the sound quality is real good on that one. I also have some songs from a concert in 83 that's real good, good sound quality as well.

What are your favorite live versions of favorite songs? Here's a couple of mine to start . . .

BBC Sessions
"Feathers-Oar-Blades"
CT out-Siouxsies everyone on the block. Fierce. Love it.

Milk & Kisses tour 1996
"50-50 Clown"
So sweet, damn tight. Best version of this song. Ever.

"Blue Bell Knoll"
The ultimate CT eargasm?

Heaven or Las Vegas tour 1990

"Whales Tails"
The sublimely Lush, technicolor-jellybean HoLV sound (my fave) mingles with Victorialand's arctic vapors. Spine tingling.
