I voted for "moderate"...for me it's just about the music...not the packaging...but then again..i have 4 versions of Milk and Kisses....LOL okay okay...so if I see it or it's reasonable on ebay..I get it...but i'm not rabid

I must clarify one thing...although I believe I'm "moderate" in my obsessiveness about collecting Twins stuff....I never sell other music to get it...I keep everything...even the stuff in my SHAME STACK ;)

I voted for moderate. I have all the releases and EPs and some rare stuff and I am continuing to search and buy rare stuff. My last find was the Summerhead promo single. I never collected the rare stuff when cocteau twins were around..I think I've justed started doing it now as a way to have that feeling again, of holding something "new" in my hands by CT.

I have all the official ones apart from P Pig 7".
And all bought in the shops at normal prices and from Sunburst and Snowlblind onwards, on the day of release. :)

If they all disappeared tomorrow wouldn't make a shred of difference though.

Records and CDs are just things.:)

I`ll vote for considerable BUT I have also some singles and I want someday to collect everything. But there`s one big problem here. The huge record label (that starts with V..) which has the distribution for 4AD here, does a very bad job.The last 5 years in big record shops I see only the albums (not even the EPs),and about singles...phhhhhh...NOTHING!
So I collect everything I have from second hand stores or when I travel abroad.
You know it`s really annoying to see in the stores the complete discography from "Flesh for Lulu" or "Breeders" and not being able to find 2-3 singles from CT.
Can anyone help me out there?

I voted '4', but actually fall somewhere between 4 and 5. I have all the official releases and singles, a few rarities, a couple of boots. But I'm happy with that...I have all that I need. Especially now that there's mp3...no need to shell out 25 bucks for the In Dreams soundtrack just to get one damned song.

I suspect I know how *you* voted, mender!

Hmm...me too Sean, except I picked 5...I have all the singles...I'd like to get some rarities, mostly bootlegs..seems like a world of difference between 4 and 5 and then not much difference from 5 to 8 or so...
So I pick 5 for me to be I have all the standards and singles and am seeking bootlegs and other audio material, but have no concern for the physical collection...a CDr copy of a bootleg would sound fine to me......rare pressings of snow or promo's don't interest me. And, like Watchy, I don't considering selling other things to get music...

Jeez- I used to have garlands thru bbk on vinyl+all the singles I could find, but when the world went (ahem) 'digital' I didnt really keep up.... lost from theft or idiocy, the vinyl disappeared (sniff) -I tend to play fcc when Im feeling sad and victorialand when Im going for a drive in the country.... I was going to get a CT compilation I found at tower records but it didnt have loves easy tears, so I left it there.....:(

Although I would just about sell my body to get any new CT stuff, there's no new stuff to get anymore since the breakup. :( And as far as bootlegs and such, there just isn't the choice of sources that there used to be around my area of the earth. However, every item I own is treasured. Although they are indeed just 'things', I would be extremely upset if I somehow lost those 'things'. It's not so much what they are, but what they mean to me. Each CD, vinyl, video, my HOLV promo on-shelf display, and the box set, all hold special meaning. Out of the many artists that I've listened to and enjoyed, none have had the effect on me that Cocteau Twins have had. So, while my life would definately go on if I lost these things, it would leave a huge void. You can tell me to get a life if you wish, but music does something to me that nothing else can, and CT's music does something for me that no other band does. For me, it is HUGE magic. :)

I just had a swift count on the shelf and I suspect I'm a ten as I stopped when I got to 200 CDs and that didn't even count the 5 box sets and the numerous compilation CDs! The vinyl & cassettes would probably comfortably treble that!

If I calculated how much I've spent over the years I'd probably scare myself!

You are quite correct - I have paid silly money for a few things, but that's what happens when you're a 10! I always say that my record collecting has been the most constant thing in my life since I was 16, and as a result sometimes common sense simply doesn't get a look in!

It is a joy to help someone that helps so many others. Your discs will be ready in 3-4 days.

I am between 3 and 4; I have all of the standard releases and most of the singles (via the singles box set); somewhere around 4CC, I started purchasing less generally, not just CT. Translation: I'm sure I'm missing a single from that CD and the later one. I don't have anything too obscure and ALL my releases are CD. My friend has most of the vinyl from 4AD.

The only oddity I have is the NME 45 that features the different mix of Ivo.

I still don't have the latest box set.

I'm between 4 and 5. I have all the albums, singles and box sets plus some promo stuff and videos/TV performances. All that's left for me to be interested in is the stuff you can't buy in the shops or from Amazon. I do look on ebay occasionally but the bootlegs often get pulled before the sale completes.

I don't know how much my Cocteau collection is part of my addiction to Cocteau Twins or if it's simply a part of my OCD. I have one record, BBK. Now I must own everything on Vinyl. The basic I mean: all albums and EPs. The only thing I'm looking for right now (which isn't hard, I'm just too lazy) is the original CD of Garlands to get Some Other Aeon. And honestly, I have to say, I love the artwork. I really do! I'm even beginning to like 4CC artwork (there, I said it!).

I'm defintely not as crazed as I once was. I now have the benefit of having a couple of really good friends that help complete my collection when they find certain items. I'm not into promotional items really, I just want all the releases on CD and vinyl.

As long as I have every song they ever released i'm alright. Don't care too much for collector's items and the like. The only collectable I would like to have is the Snow EP, but I get outbid everytime on eBay. I don't want to pay that much for it since I already have the songs.
