A documentary program on television this evening not only played Cat Power in the soundtrack but also had a Cocteau Twins track:

"In The Life" inthelifetv.org (http://www.inthelifetv.org/currentep)

Hosted by acclaimed slam poet and Def Poetry Jam star Staceyann Chin, In the Life, the television newsmagazine of record on gay and lesbian America, kicks off its election-year coverage with a candid interview with Democratic frontrunner Howard Dean. Having made history by signing into law the nation's first civil unions law, the former Vermont governor reveals what a Dean presidency would mean for gay and lesbian Americans. It's the first in a series of "Campaign 2004" close-ups. Other highlights of In the Life's February episode include: Circuit Parties Uncovered: In the Life slips past the velvet ropes for an inside look at the phenomenon of circuit parties--the controversial all-night, drug-enhanced, sexually charged dances frequented by thousands of gay men nationwide. If these party boys are defining gay men today, how does "the circuit" affect the way the rest of America views the LGBT community? Lesbian rabbis: "Lesbian rabbi" is no longer an oxymoron. Meet the women sparking a revolution in modern Judaism. ALSO: Homeless queer kids in Minneapolis; LGBT lives in developing nations; coping with HIV into unexpected old age; and In the Life commentator Harvey Fierstein on gay pride and prejudice.

See, Ket? It works. How about "Laid Low In Slo-Mo" by Lesbian Rabbi?

There's a zing and a zang and a don't-mind-if-I-do about it.

That'd be a gas, Ernie.

Maybe I should put some cover versions at the end of my current project? These leap to mind:

"Oh, No, Not My Schikse"

"(If You're Goyim To) San Francisco"

"Putz A Little Love In Your Heart"

"My Way, Already"

Speaking as a lesbian rabbi, I find this thread offensive.

Not that I am actually a lesbian or a rabbi; I'm just speaking as such, with no basis whatsoever.

We now return you to your normal programming.

Happy Monday!

Nice one, Ernie.

I did, of course, omit the Bing Crosby classic "Gone Gephilter Fishin'" from my own list, along with the Thompson Twins "My Son, The Doctor, Doctor".

My God, but it works on so many levels.

I mentioned the idea flippantly to the other half of the Lawton-McCarthy musical partnership.

He liked it.

The snowball gathers pace.

I know, Kook...but the name's attention grabbing potential is good.

"I went to see Lesbian Rabbi last night."

"Really? What did she say?"
