I've noticed a trend amongst some US TV shows to use a lot of British music - CSI, CSI Miami & Without A Trace are prime examples. Anyway, I happened to see the first ever episode of CSI last night and lo and behold, 25 minutes in they used 'The Thinner The Air', and quite a decent amount of it. I was so surprised I lost the plotline!

what about the use of E Frazer/Massive Attack on UK Holiday Programs and Design Programs (e.g. Grand Designs)?

in the past 12 months I've lost count of the number of times I've heard that "heartbeat" like intro to Teardrop (I think - my memory is playing up something rotten - but you all know the track I mean anyway, right?) ... not that I'm complaining - I love it, my whole being just sort of goes squidgy every time I hear it.

I'm now waiting to be shot down in flames by certain people on the forum :)

One of the holiday programmes used "Lazy Calm" last year or the year before for a piece involving a boat trip on an Indian river.

It was quite picturesque....the sun just going down, brightly coloured woven cloth on the river-bank and some old Indian bloke washing his bullocks in the Ganges.

I first saw that CSI episode in March 2002...

Must agree, that show uses some amazing music. Is there a "Music from CSI" compilation available? Wold be one of the few TV-linked comps worth buying...
