My brother works for Fontana and says someone at the label says that the unfinished tracks are really good. One of them is salsa influenced and there is also a reggae track a bit like Winter Wonderland. He says that there is a rumour at Fontana that Robin Guthrie is thinking of releasing them next year as an EP.

Ava - what does your brother do at Fontana? There have been rumours about the ever-loving "unreleased album" for ages now. And "salsa" influenced tracks? Dance-stylee, you mean, or what?

Ava, I think your thinking of Catherine Wheel not Cocteau Twins. I do A&R work for a couple of small dreampop labels and Ive been hearing rumors for ages that Fontana is thinking about a CD of Ferment-era leftovers to go with the Like Cats and Dogs collection. Like Cats and Dogs was only about one quarter of Catherine Wheel's B-sides plus a few outtakes. Cheers, Mel

who is katherine wheel? is she the girl who sings for the sundays?
You know this is unlike me when it comes to bands because everyone needs a break once in a while to do their own thing and direct their life the way they want and I respect that...........but..........god do I miss the Cocteau Twins
Jeepers!
Yeah - I do too, but I'm now really paying attention to Harold Budd's mercurial stuff instead. It was that 'Moon and the Melodies' CD wot done it.
Avanti!
Robin has said that the 'unreleased songs' were nowhere near finished - just a few recorded ideas.
I think this might have been a case of Phil talking to himself, in his sleep??
or is this where he got his inspiration for his "Brewstone" alter-ego??
whichever, I miss threads like this .....
I miss people thinking they're real.

I've got his work address. We could club together for a stripper-gram to go to his office and sing "Wax And Wane". That should do the trick.
I would totally pitch in for that. Now where's my conversion chart?
