Okay...so we know this was filmed...digitally at least...there's a quicktime clip of BBK live from this show on the net...right? We've probably all seen it...what about the rest of the show...

OMG I would give soooo much to have a copy of that...Will there ever be a live video release of this show?

Hoping, Praying...ready to give a kidney or my left nut.

i think this was the work of ted grudowski if i'm not mistaken....but i don't think he has plans to release any of his remarkable footage.

i have lots i could say here too......but won't ;)

i do know that ted has some other.......let's just say.....remarkable footage that fans would die to have. to be fair to ted here i don't think think it's an issue of him hoarding the footage.....i think he's looking for the right time and place to release it and of course with full band approval.

ted and i conversed briefly awhile back when i was trying to prod capitol records into letting me do their official dvd release and he was open to allowing the release of some of this material for an official release only, makes sense to me......but capitol records tossed the idea out the window when they did a bit more research.....mind you, both capitol and 4AD benefited from the mass amounts of research i did on this project and 4AD was in on the deal for a UK version of the release but then realized that i was just a middle man and cut me out all together and decided to do it on their own after i had done the research showing them how profitable it would be. ahem. needless to say i was less than pleased. especially because the 4AD dvd release (whenever they get off their arses and produce it) will only have promo videos on it and nothing more, and the 4AD release will be restricted to 4AD promo videos only.....missing half of their career!! my project had promo videos, live footage, interview footage, photographs, you name it - it was on there.

anyway capitol discovered the amount of red tape behind such a release for north america. apparently there are some serious copyright issues preventing the official release of a dvd.....there are not only a variety of record labels to deal with but then there are directors as well.....the list goes on and on. all i have to say is no wonder the cocteaus never got rich......and i completely understand their need to create their own label....it's the only way.

yes and that is the truly sad part about the whole situation...wow mender..it's really too bad that the project you were trying to get off the ground never did...very unfortunate...but you are amazing for trying...
