View Full Version : Meeting Liz

I might actually make it to London in time for the upcoming V&A exhibit. What do you think the chance of actually meeting Ms.Fraser would be? It didn't say anything about her actually being there.
I'd like to make up for the time when I finally had the chance to meet her at Lisner Auditorium. I stood there stupified, tearing up, , couldn't speak. I felt like an idiot. All I could do was smile, then look at my shoes. :lame:
I was only 17 :baby: , maybe now I could manage a "hello".
Or I could just move to Bristol and hang around the grocer near the frozen peas.

Kidding.

...like my father told me, "you'll never know unless you try."

it's the effort that counts in the end.

Nah, just wishful thinking. I still want to see the V&A exhibit, along with a thousand other things I still haven't seen in the U.K.

Does anyone have any Liz Fraser meetings they care to share? Maybe I can live vicariously through them!

I've been in touch with the curator of the exhibition to find out if Liz was performing at the Shhh Live event and got a definite No as the answer. Otherwise, as Liz lives in Bristol I'd think the chances of meeting here there would be low :(

maybe she just wants to put the mad cocteau freaks off the scent

Nope, as I said previously I've been in touch with the curator and she definitely isn't performing. It's largely a bunch of DJs and electronic buskers.

Brittany - your avatar suggests that you're already living in London....

Not quite sure how to respond to those comments...
I don't live in London...yet, although I plan on joining my family (outside of London or Hampshire) by the time I'm 40 (11 years and counting down).
My avatar is due to my own dry sense of humour, as I found it somewhat goofy that I would use her picture instead of mine.
As far as what my avatar suggests-even though I don't see any relationship to my well being and my avatar...I have doctors who tell me daily that I am actually quite healthy now and have a good chance of living for quite a long time.

Don't feel bad. I turned down an opportunity to meet her for the exact same reason. I couldn't imagine meeting her and just treating her like any person. Of course, I'm older and wiser (mostly older ;)) now as well, so who knows how I'd be if I got to meet her nowadays.

Ah, who am I kidding? I'd STILL probably just stand there, dumbfounded, or else I'd go into hysterics right in front of her. Either way, I'd be making a fool of myself. :D

I'd take you up on that if it didn't involve a rather expensive flight across the pond. I'm not sure which is harder to cope with, the money or the hours in a plane, over nothing but water. :help: I need a valium just thinking about it. :(

I might not bother now, shallow as that may sound

Luci, flights are pretty cheap, but the 8 hours or so is still going to be a hurdle for you...
