contrary to many fans, elizabeth's voice is not my favourite part of cocteau twins. I always fantasize about having all their recordings without voice, just instrumentals. I always enjoyed the sporadic instrumental twins songs as well as the ones that appeared in this mortal coil albums...

go ahead, crucify me.

The Cocteau's sound is so much greater than the sum of its parts for sure. Such heights are only achievable when Liz, Robin, and Simon and/or Will are working as a musical team. I also adore all of CT's instrumental tracks, particularly Rococo, Bloody & Blunt, Oomingmak, Dials, and Simon's amazing work on Filigree & Shadow

sorry, chac.

this is where we must part company....

the Cocteau's without the voice of ms. Fraser is, for me, absolutely beyond comprehension.

she is the glowing flame on a fantastic candle.

sorry, but without that voice the room stays dark.

H'm. The Twins without Liz sound kind of nice, as you can hear in Ribbed and Veined et al, but Liz without the rest of the Twins is glorious, as in Another Day.
But CT music for me is about the combination of both.
