look what i found....
VERY old magazine..... in a very old shop.....
here you can see the twins in Buenos Aires, Argentina... in the hotel room....
damn! the nearest they were from Chile.... when I was a poor student.... and now i could travel to see them... they don't come to south america... **sniff**
Greetings,
Good stuff Katheryna :)
I've often wondered how well CT sold in South America. I think I was always a little bit surprised they were even released there, but I guess that's just my ignorance of South America showing through. They must have at least pressed a fair number of records though as they come up for sale quite regularly.
Did you realise that this is the 5000th thread to be posted on the boards. It is somewhat appropriate that something 'new' about the Twins should be the post to reach this landmark :)

no, i didn't realize this is the 5000th thread here.... ;-)
i'm glad to post it
well, i must confess i didn't buy so much records in the first years as a cocteau fan... in those years (late 80's, actually until early 90's) it was more like one of our friends coming saying "hey, i found this music... i got a copy on tape for you".... or we recorded directly from the radio on tape... -those years! :-)... so when democracy came back we had a lot of concerts here -NOT the ones i wanted the most... :-(.... and music wasn't expensive to buy anymore.... so, we all started to buy all the music we loved... it was just a thing of not finding the music u wanted... know what i mean? well... that's the way i got cocteau music those years... and i'm sure a lot of ppl did the same way around here...

katheryna, thanks for posting those great little pix - very nice!
btw, yeah this is technically the 5000th thread although you'll notice it's thread number 6496, which means that 1496 other threads have actually been created but have since been either deleted or merged. we are a scary bunch.
well, i actually have an entire article about their visit here (argentina)!!!
if youre interested, i can scan it and post it; its in spanish, of course, but it has a very funny picture of liz (and another very similar to the one at the hotel).

April 19+20, 1991 Sao Paulo, Brazil Projeto S.P.
April 13, 1991 Buenos Aires, Argentina Gran Rex Theatre
April 23, 1991 Buenos Aires, Argentina Teatro Opera
This is what I found at cocteautwins.org, a relative of mine went to one of these concerts in Buenos Aires, I was not here at the time unfortunately.
Sadly, I was not aware of the Twins when they played where I was living at the time: March 14, 1994 Montréal, Canada Metropolis
I discovered then in July'94, so I missed them by just a few months.
I've read that Liz's singing was screwed up at the time, but who cares...

For one ghastly moment that looked like it was one of Ivo's posts !
19+20 = 39
13+23 = 36
39-36 =3, the number of Cocteau Twins.
Don't cry for me, Argentina, I'm not worth it. Just ignore me.
