According to Bella, he's got a few solo shows planned in Europe...Anyone plan on taping any of these?

the most interesting bit is who he's performing with.......

November 21st Robin Guthrie Karlsruhe Festhalle Durlach with violent femmes
November 22nd Robin Guthrie Wiesbaden Schlachthof with violent femmes
November 23rd Robin Guthrie Bruxelles Royal Circus with violent femmes

that's what it says here..........

http://www.bellaunion.com/events.htm

and by the look of how it's written i am assuming that the violent femmes are the opening act.....but who knows?!

simon knows!

simon?????? where are you?????

do you know loads of technical stuff about the effects/instruments/guitars used to create the guthrie sound???

do you have a lot of knowledge about recording music?

are you fairly well versed in musical terminology?

are you a cocteau twins fan? (of course you are, you're reading this here!)

have you got a good understanding of music, both past and present?

if you said yes to any of the above.....i need your help........email me.......i've got a proposition for you.

simon said that robin's solo album is scheduled for release march 2003 (although the bellaunion website says february 2003)

Will that be in the UK only? Or will we, across the sea, also be able to get our drool-covered hands on it?

i would assume that it's a UK release date but only simon and the kind bella union folks could confirm. you know that i'll post any news i get but you can always check their site periodically as well.

i REALLY want this disc. the new cleaned up cocteau c.d.'s nonwithstanding.......i'm very jazzed about this one.
i've asked the brilliant and fashionable Peter at B.U. if they're going to be taking pre-orders......don't know if they have a policy of taking them or not...but it would make a great precident!

i'm in....:D :D

i think this is a good place to post this considering mr. guthrie has moved off to france.........

in a 1983 issue of Rorschach Testing Magazine robin completed a fun questionnaire to which he stated:

Countries
Worthwhile: Holland
Worth wasting: France

i wasn't poking fun of him by posting that quote i just find it amusing to reflect on what he said back in 1983.

i got an email from robin today and i assure you i don't think he'd appreciate me pasting it here in a public forum word for word! he continues to be a brilliant man whom i have utmost respect for.

spangles, we're all waiting to hear how things are in california? is it true what they say about the women? ;)

I don't know what you've heard about the women.......but in my humble opinion, I have not been looking for anyone or anything rather than a job to keep my wonderful abode but inevitably things happen. The flirting is impossible to live with.
A waitress at denny's gave me the "look" like I don't know how many times. I thought she was sheryl crow at first I swear it.
Then at Gottchalks I had a wicked flirting match with a woman....italian or greek could not tell dark long hair, grey-purple eyes full lips and she actually looked like mmmender a little.
Then at Triztesa, one of my coworkers at the temp agency I was working with mistakingly thought I was looking for blokes at work to shag at lunch time...ugh

My roomates' ex-wife came by. We talked and talked for hours and she kept getting closer and closer so if that is what you are talking about it is very true. No they are hardly any dumb blondes here as we are surrounded by universities and colleges.

My exgirlfriend is so jealous that I am getting quite a bit of attention rather than her. lol I don't need it right now. I just need a steady job. At this point I would scrub toilets with a toothebrush. I need the money for school. Hoping to start Massage Therapy school next term cross your fingers and yes they(the clients will be all subjected to coc) no pun intneded. My practice will be ladies only...ahem lucky me
