NOT A SINGLE REGRET
Exclusive Former Sugababe Siobhan Donaghy is set to storm back into the charts as a solo star
By John Dingwal
SIOBHAN DONAGHY admits she has never regretted turning her back on the Sugababes despite the girl group's string of chart-topping singles.

Siobhan, who quit the band in 2001, is back with brilliant new solo single Don't Give It Up. which is released this week.
And she says the track, as well as her forthcoming album Ghosts, is proof positive she took the right decision to go it alone.
Siobhan made up one third of the group with Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena but concedes her strained relationship with Keisha forced her to leave.
She said: "We're very different artists. I have never looked back since I left and have always made the records I've wanted to.
"I can't imagine being in a girl band now or compromising.
"I guess over the years I have become a bit of a control freak down to every last detail and I give it 100 percent.
"I have specific ideas of how I want things to sound. I respect what the Sugababes do and they are very different now compared to when I was there.
"There isn't any animosity, Mutya isn't even there now. It's so far in the past. We were only kids and any arguments are history.
"I was 17 when I was in that band. It came down to the fact me and Keisha never got on. But we were young and I'm not pointing the finger of blame.
"The relationship wasn't right to start with and I gave up and left to get on with my life. I never regretted it and I'm not a particularly ambitious person.
"I just want to make good records, I'm lucky I have been allowed to do so."
Meanwhile, Siobhan has confessed to the influences behind her infectious solo single and Scots singers make up two thirds of her crib sheet.
The fabulous new track has been driving people wild because elements of it sound like Kate Bush and cult Scots act Cocteau Twins.
Siobhan admits she was holed up in a French recording studio listening to both acts, as well as Annie Lennox, before concocting her latest batch of songs.
Siobhan said: "I've always been a big Kate Bush fan. My manager wasn't surprised when I started ringing him up from France and told him I was listening to the Cocteau Twins, Kate Bush and Annie Lennox.
"I'm always trying to get people into the Cocteau Twins. They are probably my favourite band of all time and Elizabeth Fraser is my favourite singer."
The album's title track Ghosts, out in June, is probably the closest to the Cocteau Twins' material. The influential Scottish band, who split 10 years ago, were formed in 1980 by Robin Guthrie and Will Heggie in Grangemouth with Elizabeth Fraser joining on vocals, before bassist Simon Raymonde arrived in 1983.
Fraser also provided vocals on three songs for Massive Attack's classic Mezzanine album in 1998 and is the voice of Mortal Coil's classic cover of Tim Buckley's Song To The Siren.
Siobhan explained: "I'm a huge fan of Elizabeth. I worked with Simon at the end of this album after it was finished and mastered. I'd like to work with him again.
"We played him Ghosts and he liked it - he could tell we'd been listening to the Cocteau Twins."
The 22-year-old beauty denies reports of a bitter rivalry with Mutya, who is also releasing a solo single in the coming weeks.
"I have spoken to Mutya," she said. "Months ago we realised our records would come out around the same time. It has nothing to do with us - it's just a coincidence.
"They are different songs. She is doing R&B slow jams and mine is more ethereal."
'There's no animosity. We were only kids and any arguments are over'
