Does anyone remember John Peel's description of Liz's voice? He was a big fan of the unintelligible lyrics and vocal gymnastics, calling it "quavering". If ever she strayed from this, particularly in his sessions, he would express a slight disappointment.
I was listening to Alas Dies Laughing on the BBC Sessions today and that sprang to mind. It's thanks to Peely I got into CT and I remember how exciting it was when they did a new session for him. |

I was listening the first time he ever played them on his show and it was one of those sit up and take notice moments. I remember being just totally blown away by what I was hearing
