Default Anyone know the answer to this? (Simon, perhaps?)

I was just wondering if anyone knew which of the Cocteaus penned the logos? There have been a few over the years and most seem to be handwritten (see Mmmender's groovy new header above). After seeing Replicess' postcard from Liz, I thought it might be her handwriting. So does anyone know the answer? Mmmender? Simon? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

The new header is completely beautiful

I assumed the various logos were designed by the '23 envelope' team

Default logos

well yes, liz did (does?) have gorgeous handwriting but all the handwritten CT logos were usually done by calligraphers or by the design team V23. we rejected hundreds before they got it right....sleeves can be like that sometimes....when we were doing the sleeve for HOLV we could not find anything appropriate at all, and then with the designer we were meeting, we were about to pack up and go home, when we took one last look at the backgrounds of some of his photos with those little magnifying glasses-thingys and in the tiniest corner of one of his shots, there was this blur of lights, actually done by waving fairy lights around apparently. And that became the sleeve that you know and love! Pure chance.

The header is by my mate Brian Shanks, who did much of the artwork on this site and who is a fine human being.

As I've posted elswhere, it was called "Road River Rail" - I have this and some of his other work, both on disk and on paper. Too talented for his own good.

thank god for v23 eh? I cringe at the thought of seeing cocteau twins written in comic sans (or anything else for that matter)

Thanks for the insight to that, Simon! I love hearing stories like that. It's just neat to get the behind the scenes info. We all know how hard it can be to be patient at times, but holding out for just that right thing you're looking for, whether it be a logo, artwork, a particular sound, or anything else, is worth it.

Now, if you could give us the recipe for that famous Cocteau Twins guitar sound.... I know I left that effects box around here somewhere!

I've been looking into having (what I call) the 'Lily Lady' tattooed on my ankle for a few months now - just looking for the right place to have it done

Replicess, I'm actually going in today to discuss where to put this exact tattoo (lilly lady- I like that). This will be my first tattoo, so I'm just a tad bit nervous. But this tattoo is to commemorate my surviving cancer (one year today! YAY!!). I'm thinking of having it done on my thigh. I'll keep you posted.

Luci
