I totally agree! I've loved everything from Garlands to Imperial BUT there is something about 4CC that has a completeness to it, a culmination of their art that blends the moods of so many prior releases into a brilliant finished product. Plus my 4AD original cassette is really worn out!!! I still ask myself..."why did I buy this on cassette?"

Not that this recording NEEDS remastering, but if there is a way to rub away the audio tarnish and let the most subtle sonic details glimmer through, all the better.

Summerhead is very, very close to Godliness. Remastering it might necessitate it being permanently programmed into the "house PA" in heaven. No doubt it would hover in the "Heavenly Top 40" in perpetuity.

...and I must respectfully disagree with Mzz. Mmmendra: The "holy trinity" of CT EP's (Love's Easy Tears, Tiny Dynamine, Echoes in a Shallow Bay) would most certainly benefit greatly from a sonic tidying up. A good remastering might just redeem those damned DX7 bells!

O, Sonic Mandarin Guthrie, what would it take, sir? I am ready to sweat and bleed if necessary.

I think 4CC sounds great. There is an airiness to the album's sound that I love. I'm with Andy, first things first — Love's Easy Tears, Echoes, and Tiny Dynamine could use the once over twice to punch up and define Simon's murky bass

Yes! especially for a remastered summerhead - it is divine. it would be really interesting to hear - just fantastic.

Why don't we ask them to just go and record over 4cc with some better songs ?

I find the sound of this album exceptional, but I also believe that it could be better if remastered by Guthry! If there is a track that could show up with a remaster, it certainly is Summerhead, it has many hidden sounds in it that could be uncovered...

Where do I go to petition? I remember that this was the first release the twins made outside 4ad. So, do I got to fontana's website? Maybe I'm missing the link? I think it would be great to remaster the cd. Now that I think about it, maybe leaving 4ad was just the writing on the wall, fortelling the twins breakup since they only released two albums after they left.
